Chesney Eric Brown (previously Battersby-Brown) is a fictional character in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, played by Sam Aston. He made his first on screen appearance during the episode airing on 10 November 2003. The character is named after singer, Chesney Hawkes.
Chesney is brother to Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine) and son to Cilla Battersby-Brown (Wendi Peters). Chesney' storylines have included his friendship with pet dog Schmeichel and coming to terms with his death, as well as his relationship with Katy Armstrong (Georgia May Foote) who later went on to give birth to his son Joseph. Chesney recently embarked on a relationship with Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn).
