Deux frères, deux chefs cuisiniers. Un jour, pendant une de leurs nombreuses disputes, ils déchirent le livre de recettes familial en deux, et chacun en récupère une partie. Ils ouvrent tous deux un restaurant dans la même rue, et passent les années suivantes à essayer de surpasser l'autre. Aucun des deux frères ne souhaite l'admettre, mais la partie manquante du livre de recettes leur fait cruellement défaut. Un de leurs enfants pourrait cependant avoir l'ingrédient secret pour enfin les réunir...

Chicago. Udhayakumaran aka Udhaya(Vijay) is a college student who is doing research on atomic physics. Soon he is selected to study at Cambridge University due to the papers he has submitted on his research. However he declines and his teacher gives him the job of another teacher who is on leave. There he meets a student Vasanthi (Simran) and soon they fall in love. But later on he comes to know that she is engaged to be married. As he can't see his lover married off to someone else he moves to Chennai and finds a job as a reporter at a magazine with the help of Basheer (Vivek). He tries to fight for social change during which Basheer gets killed. He unknowingly gets to know a group of unsavoury characters who introduce him to their boss Dhananjay Veeran(Nassar) who poses as a person fighting for the people. They all promise to help him in his goals. Dhananjay asks Udhaya for a weapon to help break the granite rocks to save labour. Udhaya gives him a bomb that he had discovered during his research. However Dhananjay had other plans and uses it to cause a train to explode thereby killing many people. They frame him up. That night Udhaya is arrested by the police (Thalaivasal Vijay) and is accused of the bomb blast for which he was not responsible. Udhayakumar tries to fight his way out but in vain. In the process his father Muthuswamypillai(Rajesh) dies of heart attack on seeing his son in jail, himself being a retired constable. When Udhaya comes to his village to see his dead father Vasanthi tells him that his boss is not helping at all. While they are returning, the police jeep gets stuck in mud. So Udhaya, finding an opportunity, then cuts his handcuffs using one of the guns left behind by the police. He then sees Dhananjay Veeran and Niranjan discussing a plot to bomb a school bus and realises that Dhananjay is behind all this. He goes to the spot where one bus catches fire and Udhaya saves the children. Dhananjay arrives and seeing Udhaya attempts to shoot him but Udhaya stops him. Udhaya beats him up and throws him into the burning bus. The police arrests Udhaya despite the children's protests to not arrest him. He is taken to court where he is proven to not be guilty and is released. The film ends with Udhaya embracing Vasanthi.

Pooja est une jeune fille romantique et idéaliste qui poursuit cependant une brillante carrière. Shiv connaît également la réussite professionnelle mais il est beaucoup plus décontracté et prend la vie comme elle vient. Ils se rencontrent, tombent amoureux et se marient ce qui conduit Pooja à abandonner son travail pour devenir femme au foyer. Leur différence de caractère provoque de fréquentes chamailleries qui tournent au conflit et progressivement Pooja doute de la fidélité de son époux. Elle demande alors le divorce et recommence à travailler. C'est ainsi qu'elle fait la connaissance de Raj, riche, célèbre mais seul. Il s'éprend de Pooja qui ne reste pas insensible à son charme. Alors que leur mariage est sur le point d'être célébré, Shiv réapparaît.

Karthik (Nagarjuna) is a rich architect in Ooty. He falls in love with Padhu (Gracy Singh). Padmavathi takes her own sweet time to accept Karthik's love. Padmavathi has a cute cousin sister Bhanu (Shriya). Bhanu encourages their love and gives courage to Padhu. When Padhu reveals about her love, her father Rama Chandraiah (K. Viswanath) resists and asks her to marry the guy he has chosen for her. Padhu flees from home and marries Karthik. Padmavathi is very eager to get back to her parents and get their blessings. Karthik and Padmavathi migrate to New Zealand and they give birth to a kid named Lucky. Padhu dies in an accident. Rama Chandraiah has a very big joint family. A few of the family members opine that inviting Karthik and his kid for a marriage to happen at their place would give an opportunity to get a closer look at Lucky. When Karthik visits Rama Chandraiah's place he gets mixed responses from different people in the house. Rama Chandraiah doesn't like Karthik and others like him. Over a period of time, Karthik impresses them all and when he was about to go back to New Zealand, Rama Chandraiah expresses his repentance for whatever happened and says that he is accepting Karthik as his son-in-law. Bhanu has fallen in love with Karthik. She meets Karthik, a widower now. She still has feelings for him. But at the same time, there is Pawan (Prabhu Deva) - a childhood friend of Bhanu - who is deeply in love with her. Karthik returns to New Zealand. Bhanu along with Pawan visits Karthik. During that period, Bhanu gets closer to Karthik. When Karthik realizes the intentions of Bhanu, he fixes Pawan as the fiancée for her. Now Bhanu is about to get married to Pawan. Bhanu loves Karthik, but Karthik hesitates to repeat the history by marrying a girl against the wishes of her family. Just as Karthik is about to leave for good with his son, Rama Chandraiah stops him from leaving and pleads him to marry Bhanu. Also, Pawan comes and pleads Karthik to marry Bhanu as he can tell that Bhanu is not happy about the marriage. The film has a happy ending with Karthik and Bhanu marrying.
