Madhu and featuring Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Ambika, and Jagathy Sreekumar. It became one of the biggest blockbusters in Malayalam film history. The film grossed more than Rs. 2 crores at the box office. The script was written by S. N. Swamy. The film also has an unofficial sequel in 2009 Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded.The film's sequel was directed by Amal Neerad.The film had a run of about 175 days at the box office.Upon release, it shattered several box office records and became the highest grossing malayalam film which was later broken by "chithram".It was remade in Kannada as Jackey starring Ambareesh.
Synopsis
The story is about Sagar Alias Jacky (Mohanlal) & his accomplice Sekharankutty (Suresh Gopi). Ashwathy (Ambika) is a reporter for a newsmagazine looking to investigate the connection between politics and crime in Kerala. She is drawn to the life of Sagar alias Jacky who runs a clandestine gold smuggling business for Sekharankutty, son of the State Chief Minister. Jacky is an enigmatic character who stops the smuggling business from growing because of ethical issues with narcotics, and spends his personal time Ashwathy publishes a sensational article connecting Jacky to the Chief Minister, and pushes the uneasy relationship between Sekharankutty and Jacky into an open confrontation. Srinath & Jagathy also play important roles. Indian Revenue Service officials have been shown in good light in this film.Acteurs

The movie opens with DySP Prabhakara Varma (Captain Raju) observing the local police force during a training drill. Another officer approaches him and informs him that he is needed at a recent crime scene, and they depart immediately. Varma arrives at the home of Ouseppachan (Janardhanan), a local businessman, and sees the body of Ouseppachan's daughter-in-law, Omana (Lizy) on the grounds behind the house, in an apparent suicide. He is then introduced to Omana's husband Sunny, her father-in-law Ouseppachan, Ouseppachan's son-in-law Johny (Vijayaraghavan), Ouseppachan's best friend Narayan, and several of the household servants and neighbors (Adoor Bhavani, T.P.Madhavan). The initial report conducted by the first responders concluded that Omana had committed suicide by flinging herself from the roof of the two-story house onto the stone pavement below. Varma questions the members of the household as well as neighbors and servants about Omana's relationship with her husband Sunny (Sreenath). Sunny admits to arguing with Omana the night she died and throwing her onto their bed before leaving to drink, but swears he never hit her. He also tells Varma that Omana had attempted suicide before. Ouseppachan claims he came home from a business trip that night, dropped off by his driver, Vasu (Johny), only to find himself locked out of the house. He decided to go around the back to where the cook's quarters were located when he stumbled upon Omana's body. Dissatisfied with inconsistent testimonies from several suspects, Varma immediately suspects foul play and is determined to find the truth. The next morning, the Regional Medical Officer (Kollam Thulasi) concludes that Omana died from head trauma at 8pm the previous night.

Latha (Rekha), daughter of Menon (K. P. Ummer), a rich businessman gets a threatening call from Raji (Ragini)demanding Rs 5 lakhs not to reveal a deadly secret about her father. The movie begins with Sethurama Iyer Mammooty visiting Isow Alex (Kalabhavan Mani), a convicted serial killer who is awaiting his execution. Alex was arrested and convicted for the cold-blooded murder of seven people in two different families. Alex, who had been living a wild life then, had committed the crime high on narcotic drugs. The murder case was left to the CBI for investigation and an able officer, played by Siddique, nabbed Alex in no time. Alex is now a new man, mainly due to the influence of a priest (Gopi), who requests Iyer to visit Alex.
