In 1994, the Mexican magazine Somos published a list of "The 100 best movies of the cinema of Mexico" in its 100th edition and choose El compadre Mendoza the 3rd better of all time, just behind Vámonos con Pancho Villa and Los olvidados.
Synopsis
This is the story of Rosalío Mendoza, a Mexican landowner during the Mexican Revolution of 1910. Rosalio survives by befriending both the army and the revolutionaries. Everyone is welcomed in his ranch but the situation becomes unbearable and Rosalio must choose whose side he is on.Acteurs

Movie takes place during the Croatian War of Independence. The film is based on a true story that happened on the eve in autumn of 1991 in the small Croatian village of Kusonje, near Pakrac. A small group of Croatian soldiers went on a patrol in an improvised armored car that thay had made. In Kusonje they get ambushed by Serbs and are forced to hide in a nearby abandoned house that bears the house number 55. Their resistance to the forces of the rebel Serbs, the JNA and Serbian special forces takes almost 24 hours. In parallel the film follows the efforts of their fellow soldiers to pull them out of the encirclement.
