The film, produced by Sandow M. M. A. Chinnappa Thevar, had musical score by K. V. Mahadevan and was released on occasion of diwali 1961. The film was super hit at box-office and ran for 140 days all over Tamil Nadu.
Synopsis
Thai Sollai Thattathe highlights the values of a mothers teaching and what wrong can happen if a child goes against his mother. Raju (MGR) is an honest police inspector wrking hard to bring down a group of thieves. While on his mission he crosses paths with Vijaya (Saroja Devi) and they both fall in love. But things take an unfortunate turn when Raju realizes the criminal he is hunting is none than his brother Mohan (S. A. Ashokan). What happens next forms the crux of the story.Acteurs

Shekar (M.G. Ramachandran) is from an affluent family and Maragadham (B. Saroja Devi) from a poor family. Maragadham's brother Kandan (M.R. Radha) is a tea-stall owner who hates rich people because of some unpleasant incident from his past. A local goon Muthaiah (S.A. Asokan) loves Maragadham and wants to marry her. Neither Maragadham nor Kandan like Muthaiah. Shekar once saves Maragadham from Muthaiah, after which Maragadham gets a chance to save Shekar's life when during one of his hunting adventures, a tiger attacks him. Both develop a liking towards each other. However, Kandan's hatred towards the rich comes in the way of their love.

Dharmalingam (M.R. Radha), a rich landlord, is the father of two sons and a daughter. His eldest son has a love marriage with a poor teacher's daughter, Kamala. Dharmalingam disowns them. The son dies and Kamala is left homeless, with a little child. Nathan (MGR), a police officer, gives Kamala shelter in his house and decides to help her fight her case for property. But Kamala is murdered on the way to the court hearing. Fingers point at Dharmalingam and his son Shankar (M.N. Nambhiyar). Shankar and Nathan's sister Uma are in love. Raja (M.G.R), a champion jockey leads a very happy and disciplined life. At the climax Chandran and cops plays drama to find the mask killer. Will killer's mask tear? Sivagmi and Chandran get marry? Remain story 'll cover up these questions.
