The film is a partially fictionalized representation of the environmental disaster caused by the misuse of endosulfan pesticide in Kasaragod District of Kerala in India. This disaster was caused by nearly two and a half decades of endosulfan use on government-owned cashew plantations. The film explores the disastrous environmental and public health consequences of the pesticide misuse. It also concentrates on those health-related effects of endosulfan misuse, that persist to this day.

The story revolves around a widowed father and son working as scavengers and the harsh life they face. The duo belongs to a section of society who are marginalized in the mainstream. Father is working as a temporary cleaning sweeper. Chami is his friend and fellow worker who belongs to a tribal community. They collect the garbage from the city streets into a vehicle and dumps at a rural village. Sometimes father takes his son along with him. During the travel in a trash vehicle, father and son sees and experiences the life of many nameless, faceless marginalised people including themselves in the midst of huge buildings and roaring vehicles.

A 60-year-old man lives on a pristine, isolated island. He visits the nearby harbour in a motor boat once a month to sell handicrafts. A young burglar keeps tabs on him and one day jumps onto the motor boat and demands money. The old man remains calm and takes the motor boat towards his island where the young man remains trapped. He meets the people who live with the old man, a 7-year-old boy, a 20-year-old deaf and mute lady and a middle-aged man with a stammer. The intruder confronts rare life situations for the first time.
