Jon Shepodd (born December 19, 1925) is an American actor.
On television, he was the first actor to play the role of Paul Martin in the long-running series Lassie, making his debut mid-fourth season (1957) opposite Cloris Leachman as his wife Ruth Martin.
The two performers appeared for the remainder of the fourth season (27 episodes) but were released upon completion of filming in March 1958 after ratings plunged and letters to the producers indicated strong disapproval of the icy Leachman.
Though no fan complaints had been registered against Shepodd, it was felt he needed to be released with Leachman as a "new wife" for him would be difficult to explain to an audience composed mainly of children. Paul and Ruth Martin were thereafter played by Hugh Reilly and June Lockhart until the characters were dropped in the eleventh season (1964).
In the film Attack (1956), he plays Cpl. John Jackson, the orderly to the unpopular Captain Cooney (Eddie Albert). During an opening sequence, Jackson irritates the other men in the unit who are queuing up for coffee, when he jumps the queue. He also appeared as Jesus Christ in The Power of the Resurrection (1958), in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962), and as Alredi in The Garment Jungle (1957).

Jane et Blanche Hudson sont deux sœurs. Jane Hudson est une véritable enfant vedette dans les années 1920, grâce à une chanson reprise par toute l’Amérique. Elle est surnommée Baby Jane, et une poupée à son effigie est commercialisée sous ce nom. Mais passée l’adolescence, le public l’a complètement oubliée. Et c'est sa sœur, Blanche, qui devient célèbre à son tour, en devenant une actrice de cinéma renommée et appréciée du public. Elle use de son pouvoir à Hollywood, pour que sa sœur obtienne des rôles ; les producteurs se plient à cette exigence, mais l'ex-enfant star est devenue une piètre actrice, et ses films restent très loin du succès, au point que l'un d'eux ne sera même pas diffusé aux États-Unis. Un terrible accident de voiture met cependant fin à la grande carrière de Blanche. Désormais en fauteuil roulant, elle devient dépendante de sa sœur déchue. Cette situation sera l'occasion pour Jane de se venger de sa sœur. Lorsqu'une chaîne de télévision rediffuse sur une période, tous les films de Blanche, cette dernière est de nouveau encensée par ses fans, ce qui provoque chez Jane, plus encore qu'à l'habitude, aigreur, jalousie, et une effrayante folie.
