Maneej Premnath was a film director. He started his career as an assistant director and worked on many TV series independently. His short film Who Am I ? was India's official entry in the 2008 Kara Film Festival. He has worked with Ram Gopal Varma and then turned director with the Hindi film, The Waiting Room. Unfortunately he succumbed to brain stroke and the news was a shocker for the industry insiders as Maneej has already signed to direct a Malayalam film scheduled to start in December 2012.

The story of The Waiting Room takes place in Thenmala, a remote South Indian railway station, where four passengers are left stranded on a rainy night. A serial killer is on the prowl, targeting the passengers of the waiting room, creating fear among them. The dreaded night for the passengers and the investigation to nab the killer forms the crux of the film.
