Vedigundu Murugesan (English: Bomb Murugesan) is a Tamil language film released in 2009. It stars Pasupathy and Jyothirmayi in the lead roles.

Vadivelu's comedy in this film is outstanding and he steals the show by his superb comedy.

Synopsis

The movie is set in the village of Kizhrajakularaman in Rajapalayam district. Vedigundu Murugesan (Pasupathy) is a small time guy who breaks the law occasionally, but is a good Samaritan in the eyes of the local judge (Nirmala Perisamy) as he provides shelter and looks after a mentally challenged girl Ponni (Deepa) who were deserted by her parents. He earns his living fetching water for factories and hotels in his village.

Pandiarajan and Urvashi have no children even after being married for a long time, Pandiarajan comes to know through the doctor that his wife cannot bear children. Not willing to hurt his wife's feelings, he takes the blame on himself. While on a business tour to Nepal, he marries a Nepali girl (Vinaya) under some unavoidable circumstances. When he comes to know that she is carrying his child, Pandiarajan arranges for her stay at his friend's house. Vinaya delivers a boy and Pandiarajan adopts him with his wife's consent who is not aware of the truth. Unable to suppress her urge to be near her child, the Nepali girl comes as a cook to her husband's house. Pandiarajan's father (R Sundarrajan) comes to know the truth and tells his son to accept Vinaya and make a clean of things to Urvashi. But Pandiarajan who is apprehensive of his wife's reaction begs his father to keep the whole affair under wraps. The story takes a turn to climax when Urvashi, not happy with the goings on in the kitchen, tries to get Vinaya married off to someone else. The movie ends on a happy note when Urvashi comes to a compromise and the two wives live happily with one husband .

Krishna (Jayam Ravi) is a happy-go-lucky youth who excels in every field, but always does strange and dangerous things to obtain a certain "kick"- a thrill or excitement that he craves. One such activity is secretly double-crossing his childhood friend Dass (Sathyan) while helping him elope. However she sets a condition; Krishna must stay in a well-paying job- he had resigned from other jobs due to lack of "kick"- and only then will she agree to marry him. Krishna accepts, but soon resigns again for the same reason and tries to hide it from Nisha. When she finds out, Nisha breaks up with him and leaves him for good.

The movie opens to a prologue, where King Parasbaram (Radha Ravi), ruler of a small rival kingdom and the nine ministers of the great Empire of Vikata Nagaram are on their way to a Chinese consulate's mansion. They are warmly welcomed by General Wang (Wilson Ng) and courtesan Hong (Vivienne Tseng) once they reach there. The Chinese consulate, headed by Chao Gong Gong (Nickson Cheng), wishes to engage in trade with the people of the Kingdom of Vikata Nagaram and reap the benefits. Thus, the ministers strike a deal with Parasbaram and the ministers to help them, promising them a huge share of the benefits. One of the ministers, Nandivarma Rayar (Joe Malloori) objects to this, saying that he doesn't want to betray the King and his people for money. Chao Gong Gong realising that he is of no use to the plan, has courtesan Hong kill him with a poisoned needle from her hair.

The film begins with Annamalai (Jayaram) who is a ghost trying to talk to his son Pasupathy (Jayaram) but nobody has been able to see or hear him since his death. After being annoyed by Annamalai, Aavudaiyappan finally decides to help him. They meet Pasupathy but Pasupathy seems to hate his deceased father.
