Synopsis
Ami Shubhash Bolchi is the story Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose who comes into the life of struggling Debabrata (Mithun) and through him, Netaji helps to awaken the Bengalis from "Sleep" and acts as a super hero. This movie is the Bengali version of Manjrekars earlier original Marathi film along the same lines called Me Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy.Acteurs

After the death of his wife, Aditi, Ravi Naik (Sunil Shetty) must look after his only child - a son - on his own. He brings up his son, Rohan (Mayank Tandon), in a very strict and disciplined atmosphere, so much so that his son starts to resent him and his mannerism. His immediate neighbors, Antra Pandit (Shabana Raza) and her mom (Kirron Kher) too are critical of the way Ravi handles his son, and suggest that he adapt a more lenient view. Hari Damle (Sachin Khedekar), head of a Chitpavan Bramhin family, lives in the village Torgaon in Konkan with his wife Tara (Medha Manjrekar), their three children, his younger brother Mahadev (Abhijit Kelkar), and his widowed aunt, Namu Aatya (Savita Malpekar). Hari arranges the marriage of Mahadev with a pre-pubescent girl, Durga (Ketaki Mategaonkar), renamed as Uma after marriage. However, Mahadev dies before the consummation of the marriage. Hari performs death rituals (Śrāddha) for Mahadev but crows (symbolic of the spirit of the deceased in Hinduism) refuse to touch the offerings. Hari mumbles something while offering food after which crow touches the offerings.

The plot of the movie is based on the original script of Jayant Pawar, which highlights the consequences of the atrocities towards the mill workers, totally ignored by the Government. The film is a story of a family of mill workers in Mumbai. It traces the birth of the politics of greed in Mumbai and exposes the collusion between the triumvirate of big business, the political establishment and the trade union leaders who ostensibly were charged with protecting the rights of the mill workers. In the two decades that followed, the entire landscape of Central Bombay was changed forever. Land became the currency of growth, and this began the systematic extinction of mills in Bombay. In a matter of just a few years, hundreds of thousands of workers lost their means of livelihood. Having worked in these mills from generation to generation, this was the only vocation that they knew.

The movie begins with Amar (John Abraham) narrating the story of his family and himself. Amar is the son of Vidyadhar (Amitabh Bachchan) and Sumitra Patwardhan (Sharmila Tagore), a middle class couple in India. Amar lives and works in London and he sends some of his salary to them. Gangaram alias Ganga (Govinda) lives a simple, straightforward life in a small village with his mom and dad (Shivaji Satham and Reema Lagoo), and his sweetheart, Saawni (Sonali Bendre). When the time comes for Ganga to marry, his parents inform him that his biological parents live in the city and want him to settle there.
