Hosa Neeru (Kannada: ಹೊಸ ನೀರು) is a 1986 Kannada film directed by K. V. Jayaram and is written by K. V. Raju. The film starred Anant Nag and Suhasini in the lead roles.
The film score and soundtrack were composed by G. K. Venkatesh. The film, upon release, was critically acclaimed and won multiple awards at the Karnataka State Film Awards for the year 1985–86.

Arun (Ganesh) is a photographer employed in a studio in Mysore. Also living in the city is a very wealthy Rajashekhara Aras (Anant Nag), in his palatial house, now a loner separated from his family, and has become a hard drinker, living with his manservant Basava (Karibasavaiah). Arun is called one day to Aras' house to get his photo clicked for an official document. They befriend over a drink, when Aras reveals to Arun of his children having left him when they learn of his decision to remarry on his wife's passing, twenty-two years ago. He wishes of getting a photo clicked with his family one last time and pleads Arun to unite him with his three children who are now living Sydney, Bangalore, and Washington, D.C.. Arun, initially reluctant, sees his distress and assures.

Viswanathan (Sreenivasan) is a village officer. He wants to make his son Manu (Vineeth Sreenivasan), an engineer. But manu wants to become a singer. Viswanatahan sends him to a coaching centre principled by KC Francis (Thilakan). Manu often tells his mother (Suhasini) to allow him to go and participate in reality shows. But Viswanathan doesn't agree with it. When the exam result come, Manu fails. Viswanathan calls him a cheater and slaps him. Manu leaves his house. Erandane Maduve revolves around the family of a senior government officer, his autocratic wife and three arrogant daughters. This movie starts off with the assassination of Sanjeevayya (Suman), the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the subsequent turmoil in the organization of the state government. The last wish of Sanjeevayya is for his son, Arjun Prasad (Rana Daggubati), to become the next Chief Minister. However, Arjun's cousin Dhanunjay (Subbaraju) has his own dreams of becoming the Chief Minister. Arjun is approached by Ali (Harsha Vardhan) who has given 10 Crores to Sanjeevayya to resolve a land dispute in Ali's favour. Ali pleads Arjun to remind his father about the cash, once he is out of coma, as he has given his entire savings to resolve the issue. Ali also requests Arjun not to disclose it to anyone as he doesn't trust anyone. Arjun speaks to Dhanunjay about Ali but Arjun is somehow convinced that Ali's money would be returned. After Sanjeevayya's death a number of people approach Arjun, saying that his father has given them a huge sum of money and it's their duty to return it to Arjun. Arjun doesn't seem to be too interested until he talks to his mother, Rajeshwari (Suhasini Maniratnam). Arjun's mother tells him that the people who approached him are all corrupted ones, who have looted public's money and also reveals that his father is one among them. Arjun is shocked upon hearing this but his mother tells him that his father wanted to build a corrupt free state and also abolish the caste system but his Peddaina (Sanjeevayya's elder brother) (Kota Srinivasa Rao) doesn't approve of his plans and his only aim was to rule the state along with the family members. Arjun reads his father's diary and finds out how his Pedainna set their whole village on fire due to a small clash with the dalits. His father has also mentioned that only Arjun can make a difference.

A family goes to a village near Mangalore to finalize a bride for the elder son, Lucky, played by Pavan Kumar. Lucky is a US-based software professional, and is a teetotaler, always abiding by the pressure and demands of his parents, so much to the fact that he does not have the courage to speak out that he already has a girlfriend. Krishna (Jayam Ravi) is a happy-go-lucky youth who excels in every field, but always does strange and dangerous things to obtain a certain "kick"- a thrill or excitement that he craves. One such activity is secretly double-crossing his childhood friend Dass (Sathyan) while helping him elope. At this point, he meets Nisha (Tamannaah) who is shocked at his recklessness and writes him off as crazy. Krishna, however, sets his sights on Nisha and woos her in a very unorthodox way; he begs her not to fall in love with him. After a host of comical situations involving Krishna's caring but easy-going parents (Prabhu and Suhasini), local thugs (John Vijay and Mayilsamy), and an ever-present comic relief named Jackson (Vadivelu), Nisha accepts Krishna's love. However she sets a condition; Krishna must stay in a well-paying job- he had resigned from other jobs due to lack of "kick"- and only then will she agree to marry him. Krishna accepts, but soon resigns again for the same reason and tries to hide it from Nisha. When she finds out, Nisha breaks up with him and leaves him for good.
