Appaji (Kannada: ಅಪ್ಪಾಜಿ) is a 1996 Indian Kannada-language action drama film starring Vishnuvardhan and Aamani in the lead roles. The film is directed by D. Rajendra Babu and written by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and produced under Surya International banner. The film, upon release, met with positive reviews and declared a blockbuster. The music was scored by M. M. Keeravani. Storywriter of this movie, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad used a famous sequence of this movie - "Taking lift cunningly in the guise of helping a vehicle which is not starting" (just before the song "Ene Kannadathi" ) later in the 2015 Hindi movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Shivu (Puneeth Rajkumar) does pickpocket and sells cinema tickets in the black. He is totally flat to the beauty of Preethi (Hansika). Be happy no BP is the Mantra of Shivu. It is because she could not read the lovely contents in the letter he says. By slip of the tongue Preethi says no there was nothing in the letter. That is true because Shivu had inserted only blank sheet in the cover. The final test in love Shivu wins and Preethi this time is absolutely in love with Shivu for his intelligence.
