Chakravyuha (Kannada: ಚಕ್ರವ್ಯೂಹ) is a 1983 Kannada film directed by V. Somashekhar. The film stars Ambareesh and Ambika in lead roles. This film marked the entry of popular actor Mukhyamantri Chandru into films. Produced by N. Veeraswamy for Eshwari Productions, this film also starred his son V. Ravichandran in a small role. Actor Tiger Prabhakar also featured in an extended cameo role.

The film, upon release, met with hugely positive reviews and catapulted actor Ambareesh's career to greater heights and coined him the title "Rebel Star" for his angry young man role.

The film's huge success inspired other language industries and was subsequently remade in Bollywood as Inquilaab (1984) starring Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi and in Telugu as Mukhyamanthri.

The movie begins with a girl collecting funds for an organisation in Singapore. A goon gives her money and then chases her at night when she goes home. Then Vijay (Sudeep), enters and resolves the conflict without fighting. The girl introduces herself as Manasa (Ranya Rao). They slowly become friends. But one day she asks Vijay to leave her and go as she cannot stand the separation from him if their relationship develops any further. He then goes back to India and changes the mind of Manasa's brother and when they give a vacation he goes with him to his village. There, where everyone are conservative in nature, he changes their nature and makes them more lovable.

A hangman is brought to central jail to hang Hyder Marakkar (Tiger Prabhakar), a notorious criminal with terror links, but he is killed in a road accident. DIG Marar (Janardhanan) smells foul play and arrives at Kamakshipuram along with Jose Nariman (Suresh Gopi), a smart young police officer, to meet Narasimha Mannadiar (Mammootty), a revered village lord and member of the royal family who had once ruled the hamlet. He is worshipped and revered by his villagers.
