Ramesh Bhat is a multiple-award–winning Indian actor in the Kannada film industry, known for comedy and drama roles.

Being a close associate of Shankar Nag, Ramesh Bhat made his entry into Kannada Cinema as a senior police officer in Shankar Nag's Minchina Ota.
Ramesh Bhat has acted in movies such as Nodi Swamy Navirodu Hige, Ganeshana Maduve, Ganesha Subramanya and many others.
He is mostly sought for support roles. He is known for the portrayal of an eccentric colonel in the television serial in the 90's called 'Crazy Colonel'. He is also a method actor. He was the assistant director for the television series Malgudi Days. He has also directed a movie named Parameshi Prema Prasanga which was nominated for the National Awards in 1983.

Ramesh Bhat has been described as a gem of Indian cinema in full page advertisements in several Kannada movie magazines.

The film begins with police arriving at Shivarudre Gowda's (P. Ravi Shankar) house questioning him about the killing of his daughter Aishwarya (Heeba Patel) because she ran away with the guy she loved. Chandru (Sharan) and Narayana (Chikkanna) are two friends who are the leaders of a group called Chi Thu Sangha. Chandru falls in love with Kalyani (Asmita Sood) who is a teacher at a school. Chandru writes a love letter to her, but wants someone to go give it to her which is when he finds Aishwarya. Aishwarya gives the letter to her teacher to which the teacher refuses his proposal but Aishwarya doesn't reveal it to Chandru.

Belli alias Basavaraj (Shivarajkumar) migrates from his village to the city in search of a job. The film starts with Chandru (Sharan) marrying Priya (Asmita Sood) and on the very first night of their marriage they get separated.
