Davy Crockett – In Hearts United is a 1909 American silent starring Charles K. French as Davy Crockett, with Evelyn Graham, Charles Bauman, Charles W. Travis and Charles Inslee. The film was directed by Fred Balshofer and distributed by New York Motion Picture Co. It was commercially released on June 4, 1909 in the United States. This is believed to be the first movie ever made about Davy Crockett. The fictional romance depicted frontiersman Crockett rescuing a woman named Anna in mid-ceremony from marriage to a man she didn't love. She and Crockett rode off on his horse. They went directly to a minister who married them, and he brought her home to his mother.
A Corner in Cotton tells the story of Peggy Ainslee, the daughter of a wealthy New York cotton broker, and John Carter, the son of a Southern cotton mill owner. Peggy grows weary of society life and decides to help improve the lot of the poor by becoming involved with the Settlement movement. She later travels south to investigate working conditions at Carter’s cotton mill. Peggy manages to gain employment there, but soon attracts the unwanted advances of the mill foreman. John saves her from the would-be masher and the couple eventually fall in love. This becomes a problem with their fathers who had become business antagonist. In the end Peggy and John married after she foils her father’s attempt to ruin Carter by cornering the market in cotton and then persuades the two men to settle their differences.

Her soldier lover, released from a German prisoner-of-war camp, returns and discovers that Gloria is married. He happens to be in the vicinity of her husband's house when the husband is accidentally shot by the maid. Gloria is suspected of killing her husband and arrested, but the truth is revealed by the end of the film.
