The film stars Vijay and Rambha in the lead roles with Raghuvaran and Banupriya in other pivotal roles. Veteran actor M. N. Nambiar also played a supporting role, while Manoj Bhatnagar also composed the film's music. The film opened to average reviews but was an average success.
Synopsis
Vijay is the managing director of a large shipping corporation. He lives in a joint family with his father (Nambiar), two brothers (Radharavi and Dhamu), their wives and children and a spinster sister (Banupriya). He goes to Switzerland to stipulate a contract with Nizhalgal Ravi and Raghuvaran. There he meets Rambha, Ravi's sister. The two fall in love. Ravi approves of Vijay but when he expresses the condition that Vijay should stay with them after the marriage because India is not good, he refuses his offer and returns home. But later Raghuvaran and Rambha travel to India to mend fences. Raghuvaran learns that Banupriya had been dumped by Ravi for a better life and Vijay is just waiting for an opportunity to kill the man who destroyed his sister's life. He devises ways of preventing Ravi from attending the marriage but later he tells Banupriya the truth. Vijay overhears this and is angered, but Raghuvaran solves all the problems by deciding to marry Banupriya. Banupriya agrees for this too, making everyone happy. Finally Vijay, seeing his sister happy leaves Ravi alone. Eventually Rambha and Vijay get married.Acteurs

Manikkam (Vijayakanth) is released from jail in Singapore for an accident committed by his friend Chandru. Manikkam has to leave Singapore. In the boat in destination to India, he saves an old industrialist Damodaran (M. N. Nambiar) from rowdies. Damodaran hires Manikkam in his factory . Priya (Bhanupriya), a very arrogant girl, hates Manikkam and lives with her grandfather Damodaran. She has a twin sister Saradha who lived with her mother Subha (Manjula Vijayakumar) in Singapore. Priya and Manikkam get married. She continues to hate him but she changes her behaviour. The doctor reveals to Manikkam that his wife is sterile and Manikkam changes the report. Priya decides to hate more and more Manikkam because she thinks that he is sterile. Priya runs away to Singapore. Priya and Saradha exchange their life for few days. The rest of the story is about what happens to Manikkam, Priya and Saradha.

Thirumalai (Vijay) mechanic who lives in Pudupet and has three close friends for whom he would do anything. Raghuvaran is an artist who comes to stay near Tirumalai’s mechanic shop with his wife Nagalakshmi (Kousalya). Thirumalai happens to meet Swetha (Jyothika), on a New Year’s Day. As she appears in front of him all of a sudden, she happens to greet saying ‘Everyone will do fine’. From that very day, things start to shine up in Thirumalai’s life. Arasu plots an attempt to kill Thirumalai. Does Thirumalai succeed in winning his girl or is he caught up in the plot against him forms the rest of the story.

Indra Devi (Kushboo), the sister of Ishwarya (Monicka), is very rich and arrogant. Priya (Rambha) is her personal assistant. Sachein (Vijay) is a carefree and happy go lucky guy college student, who comes across the beautiful Shalini (Genelia D'Souza) on college campus and falls deeply in love with her but she doesn't love him. Arnold aka Ayyasamy (Vadivelu) has repeated the same class every year for nine consecutive years. He claims this is because he wants to be grateful to his teachers and Santhanam (Santhanam). Also, Arnold and Santhanam love Shalini. Shaliini doesn't take kindly to Sachein's smitten behaviour. Sachein is able to befriend Shalini through persistence. Shalini grows fond of Sachein. Santhanam, jealous of Sachein's relationship with Shalini, writes a graffiti on the school wall. The graffiti reads "Sachein loves Shalini". Shalini confronts Sachein, and demands an explanation. Sachein pleads his innocence, and Shalini believes him. However, Sachein tells Shalini that even though he didn't write the graffiti, he really does love Shalini. Shalini bashes Sachein, telling him that he does not know the true meaning of love, and tells him she does not love him. The next day, Sachein meets Shalini and tells her that she will fall for him. Shalini takes on Sachein's bet and gives him a total of one month to try and make her fall in love. Shalini though is a good friend of Sachein until Manju (Bipasha Basu) runs behind Sachein with skimpy costumes and makes Shalini go green with envy. Shalini's parents have arranged her wedding with an industrialist's son in Canada, yet Sachein pushes on. Days pass, and yet Sachein is not able to presuade Shalini. On the last day of their bet, Sachein decides to bid goodbye to Shalini and even apologies for running behind her so long. Shalini develops a soft corner for Sachein and decides to express her love to him until his dad (Raghuvaran) who is a multi millionaire comes to meet him. Shalini doesn't express her love because then he will think that she loves him only for the money. Sachein plans on leaving India, and goes to the airport. When Sachein was about to take the plane home Shalini expresses her love to him and they are united.

Gokulan Krishnan (Vijay) is a music loving man who begins the movie with a dream where he sees his dream girl. The only Trademark he remembers from it is a mole which is situated next to her navel(bellybutton). He then becomes determined in looking for his 'dream girl' with the help of his uncle (Mannivannan) and brother in laws. On the other hand, his father arranges him to get married to a village girl Savithri (Devayani) which Gokulan (often referred to as 'Mapillai') objects to, but Savithri loves him. Gokulan later sees his dream girl Swapna (Rambha) at a wedding where he spot the mole on her navel. He then sings to her impressing her but she leaves abruptly. He later sees her at a music class which he teaches and from then on they love each other. Gokulan tries to stop the marriage with Savithri in many failed attempts due to everyone in Savithri's family getting the wrong impression. Swapna then arrives to Savithri's village and is revealed that they are sisters. Neither of them knew that they love the same man.

Ravi Shankar (Ravi Krishna) and Sandhya (Natassha), students of a college in Dindigul Tamil Nadu, are love birds.Sandhya but faces problem in her home as her mama has false eye on her.One day he peeps into her bathroom,she complains it to her stepmother but she encourages him and tells her that they will one day get married. When Sandhya's Step-mother (Nalini) comes to know of their affair, she pokes her nose in their wheel. But the caring father of Ravi Shankar (Nassar) sends them to Chennai. For his act, he gets bumped off by Sandhya's stepmother. Upon reaching Chennai, a corrupt police officer (Sriman) apprehends Ravi Shankar on a complaint given by Sandhya's stepmother that he had murdered his father when he put his foot down on their affair. Ravi is put behind the bars.
