Mannai Thottu Kumbidanum is a 1995 Tamil language drama film directed by R. Umashankar. The film features Selva and Keerthana in lead roles, with Rajesh, Rocky, Goundamani, Senthil, Vadivukkarasi and Kamala Kamesh playing supporting roles. The film, produced by Selvi Sivaguru, had musical score by Deva and was released on 16 December 1995.
Synopsis
Sathyamoorthy (Rajesh) is a kind-hearted village chief who helps the poor villagers whereas Nallathambi (Rocky) is a heartless rich landlord who spreads terror among the villagers. His son Ramachandran (Selva) and Rasathi fall in love with each other. When Sathyamoorthy becomes paralyzed, Ramachandran becomes the new village chief. In the meantime, Nallathambi wants to destroy Sathyamoorthy's family. What transpires next forms the rest of the story.Acteurs

Parijatham (Kushboo) was a famous folk dancer in her village and many rich landlords tried to woo her. Parijatham's mother Pattamma wanted a son-in-law who will let Parijatham dance after the marriage. She finally got married with another folk dancer Palanisamy (Sivakumar). Palanisamy's brother Kottaisamy (Selva) was a good for nothing young man who spent his time with Kattamuthu (Goundamani). Later, Parijatham changed Kottaisamy into a responsible person. He got married with the folk dancer Mala (Abhirami). Rumors around Parijatham and the rich landlord Naicker (Vinu Chakravarthy) became more intense. Palanisamy could not bear this rumor and split up with the pregnant Parijatham. One day, Kattamuthu's sister was raped by a rich landlord, she then committed suicide and Kottaisamy ridiculed the rapist in public. After this incident, the rapist joined forces with the other landlords, they prevented Kottaisamy to dance for the village festival. So Kottaisamy and Mala struggled to survive, Mala eventually died during a dance show and Kottaisamy became a drunkard. In the meantime, Palanisamy brought up alone his baby son and Parijatham stopped to dance.

Muthukaalai (Murali), an angry young man, returns to his village after studying in the city. Ambalam (R. P. Viswam) is a respected panchayat headman, since his brother got married with another caste woman, he hates their family. Poochandu (Saradha Preetha), Ambalam's niece, falls in love with Muthukaalai. In the meantime, Muthukaalai's cousin Marikolunthu (Revathi) who is crazy about Muthukaalai comes from her village to marry him. One day, the storm devastates the entire village, destroying the poor villagers' house. The villagers begg Ambalam to let them in the temple until the storm calms down but Ambalam refuses point blank. Poochandu's mother breaks the temple's padlock to save the villagers. The next day, at the village panchayat, Ambalam condemn Poochandu's mother to tonsure and Poochandu to become a Devadasi. In anger against this dictatorship, Muthukaalai ridicules Ambalam and he get married with Poochandu. What transpires next forms the rest of the story.

Mayandi (Rajkiran) was a brave villager who was respected by the other villagers. Mayandi was in love with his cousin Solaiyamma (Meena) but Solaiyamma was afraid of him. Alexander (Arjun) is a henchman who works for the smuggler Peter (Tiger Prabhakar) and Alexander is considered by Peter as his faithful henchman. Peter often confronts his enemy Ayyanar (Radha Ravi).
