Shibaji (Bengali: শিবাজী "") (2008) is a Bengali film Directed by Babu Ray.

Synopsis

The story of this film revolves around the main character Shivaji (Prosenjit) who is a goon. He was hired by the villain Bishal Sarkar to kill the judge Prasanta Mullick (Ranjit Mullick) as he refuses to receive the bribe and announces death sentence for his youngest brother, Vicky Sarkar. Shivaji's wife Durga (Swastika Mukherjee) on the other hand being insulted and humiliated again and again by people tries to commit suicide. Shivaji ultimately saves her life and leaves all criminal activities. Prasanta Mullick and his wife (Mousumi Saha) help him to start a business of a fast-food centre. But one day Bishal Sarkar's brother along with goons attack the restaurant and kills a person. Inspector Satyaprakash (Tapas Paul) arrests innocent Shivaji and he was imprisoned. Prasanta Mullick resigns from the post of a judge, and tries to prove Shivaji innocent. In this mean time the three brothers of Bishal Sarkar attacks Shivaji's house, kills his daughter Tumpa and rapes his wife. Durga commits suicide. To seek revenge Shivaji escapes from the police custody and starts killing Bishal Sarkar's brothers one by one. He also kidnaps Insp. Satyaprakash's daughter Jaya (Tathoi). Jaya was a lonely child as her father and mother (Satabdi Roy) none has time for her. She was brought up by her Appa (Chumki Choudhury). Shivaji starts loving her as his daughter, and Jaya also forgets her loneliness. But police separated them and produces Shivaji in court. Suddenly Bishal Sarkar kidnaps Jaya and Shivaji saves her. But while doing so he gets injured though kill all villains. Doctors declare him dead but Tathoi or Jaya magically saves his life by singing in front of God and after 20 years with the marriage of Jaya the movie ends.

Arun Roy (Prosenjit Chatterjee), a police sub-inspector stopped the car of Indrajit a political leader and brother to the Superintendent of Police, Balaram Babu. Arun Roy was suspended from his job due to the incident. Indrajit, Balaram Babu, and their younger brother, Arjun, maintain informal control over the area. Arun Roy's father, Bhabani Roy, was a police constable who also was suspended from his job for exposing Balaram. Arun Roy fell in love with a college student named Trisha Wesmen, whose father was a journalist. To take revenge for his father's insult, Arun Roy made a plan with his friend Hitler to stage Balaram as madman. They were successful, and Balaram was suspended. A new Superintendent of Police, Sukhomoy, took charge and supported Arun Roy. Indrajit, Arjun, and Balaram tried several times to stop Arun Roy in preventing their different illegal business and failed due to support from the state ministry. Arun later arrested the three of them for different crimes.

The film attempts to touch the nostalgia of childhood. The story of the film revolves around an urban couple Bimal and Meera and a broken window of Bimal's school's classroom. Bimal plans to visit his school where he spent many years of his childhood. When he visits the school, he finds the building in a very ill condition. He specially notices one broken window of a classroom corner where he used to sit daily and look outside through the window. Though Bimal has little money, he wants to donate something to school authority to repair that window. Since Bimal does not have sufficient money, he uses the money from his fiancée Meera's savings without informing her. When Bimal presents the window to the school authority, they reject it. Conditions get worse when Meera learns about it and she breaks relation with Bimal.

The film is about an honest police officer, Agni (Prosenjit Chatterjee) whom terrorists are trying to murder but end up killing a number of school children in a school bus. The police officers are very worried about the rising crime rate and they vow to curb their attempts. Agni is given the charge. Agni while trying to save people from a terrorist attack in a shopping complex rescues Tina (Neelanjana) who falls in love with him. She later discovers that he is married to Chandrani (Rachana Banerjee) and even has a son Apu (Master Anshu). However this does not deter her love for him. She keeps on finding ways to go to Agni's house. She also becomes friendly with Apu. One day she takes Apu with her from school without Chandrani's permission. Apu studies in a school owned by Dr. Sayol (Tapas Pal) who does not have a child. Meanwhile Agni succeeds in catching members Pamela and Peter of the terrorist gang. During this time Agni's son is locked up by the principal of his school, who is thought to be kidnapped. Agni tries his best to find his son but fails. The principal then releases Apu who is then taken care of by Anu. Meanwhile the political agents come and kidnap Apu murdering Anu. Agni then agrees to release Pamela and Peter in return for his son. He is asked to go to the airport and place a briefcase laden with bombs. He fights with the gangsters and finally rescues his son. At last the politician is also put behind bars.

The film starts with Kakababu (Prosenjit Chatterjee) and his nephew Shontu (Aryann Bhowmik) smiling after watching news informing of the imminent overthrow of the dictatorship in Egypt.The film rewinds into a flashback. It is 2010. Kakababu is contracted by Egyptian businessman Al Mamun (Rajit Kapur) to decipher the meanings of hieroglyphic symbols that his teacher, Mufti Muhammad (Barun Chanda), had drawn on a piece of paper supposedly during his sleep. Muhammad is terminally ill and is about to grant his last wish while he is being treated in Delhi. Mamun thinks that the symbols are the key for locating Mufti Muhammad's will which will describe where to find treasures Mufti Muhammad had acquired during his tenure as a political leader and revolutionary. However, Kakababu is convinced that the symbols have a different meaning and they are very unusual in their nature. Mufti Muhammad symbolically requests Kakababu to verify something, a very unusual last wish. Meanwhile, a war of rivalry ensues between Mamun and Hani Al Qadi (Indraneil Sengupta), another of Mufti Muhammad's disciples (Also a rival of Mamun) who accuses Mamun of stealing a secret that isn't rightfully his. While in Delhi, there was an attempt to murder Kakababu, in which Kakababu was injured. Kakababu took the challenge to uncover the truth for which he and his nephew Shontu head to Egypt where they are drawn into the very vortex of the mystery. Kakababu gets kidnapped by Al Qadi's men which sets off a chain of events, culminating in a climax underneath a pyramid. Inside the pyramid, Kakababu discovers the lost mummy of an Egyptian queen with the help of the hieroglyphics code written by Mufti Muhammad. The present day political turmoil in Egypt also subtly reverberates in the film. At the end, Kakababu gives Hani Al Qadi the coded message written inside the coffin of the mummy and wishes him good luck for his upcoming revolution to free Egypt from the corrupt dictator Jashni Mubarak (fictionalized Hosni Mubarak).

The movie Nayak..The Real Hero, is a story about a simple boy named Joy (Prosenjit Chatterjee), who wants to be a police inspector as his father Janardan babu (Rajjak) dreams so. Janardan babu is an honest police constable. The story takes a new turn when he tries to stop the local anti-social Kali gunda (Ashish Vidyarthi). His father accuses him to be a criminal and expels him from his residence. His brother-in- law Brindaban (Rajatava Dutta) also tries to create some misunderstanding within the family . Nandini (Swastika Mukhopadhyay) gives him shelter and this creates a misunderstanding between Joy and his love interest Anjali (Sayantani Ghosh). In the course of the movie Kali gunda kills Nandini. This solves the misunderstanding between Anjali and Joy. To take his revenge Kali gunda kidnaps Joy's youngest sister on her wedding day. Joy's father takes him to Kali gunda to free his daughter. At that point in time the appointment letter comes appointing Joy as a police inspector. Joy ultimately becomes a police inspector and kills Kali gunda. And thus the movie ends with the marriage of his youngest sister. At the marriage ceremony Joy and Anjali's love story also receives a happy ending.

“Prof. Ajoy Mukherjee” and his spouse “Aditi” witness a murder, committed by the vociferous criminal “Digbijay”. In spite of repeated warnings from “Digbijay” and his right hand “Loha” the Professors give witness against them and they go to jail for 7 years. After coming out Djgbibay turns out to be even stronger. He attacks Ajoy’s family. He sends a man called “Binod Sharma” who pretends to be the friend of Joy (Ajoy’s brother). Digbijay and Binod conspire against Joy and Ajoy. After sending his own man to rob Joy of two lack rupees, Binod compels Joy to do a murder. In the meantime Digbijay stabs Ajoy and Joy gets entangled for the murder of his brother. A local inspector Dilip Lahiri also turns out to be a peer of Digbijay. While Joy remains in police custody, Digbijay tactically rapes and murders Joy’s younger sister Dia. After all these incidents Joy’s sister-in-law Aditi commits suicide. Joy teams up with his friend Kanchan and Kumar to seek revenge killing Binod, Dilip, Loha and Digbijay one after the other. Joy and his friends are jailed for 5 years.

Sobuj did everything for Sathi but did not tell that he loved her. In the end Sobuj's mother did not tell . And what else, alls well that ends well.
