Rosy (Meena), a limb and left arm paralyzed girl child with weak cardiac health, lives at an orphanage (Karunai Illam) alongside with other orphan children that were dumped by their parents forsaking due to disabilities or reasons having no parents and or for other reasons. The fact that she had been quit by her parents for untold reasons since her birth and her disability to be like other normal children attributes to her rudeness being uncaring and ignorant towards anyone. She even ill treats all her caretakers on the orphanage which turmoils to hatefulness on her by almost all other orphanage workers except the kind mother superior who heads the karunai Illam and is always kind to everyone and tries to tether the fact of love and affection to everyone regardless of ones ages. It is in the beginning of the movie, that is shown that mother superior consults doctors but for what or for whom or why isn't shown. (Ambika) arrives to karunai illam as a babysitting caretaking woman, who also does the role of a mother. She is assigned to take care of rosy by mother superior. She unlike any other's expectations, takes care of rosy despite her rudeness and shows extra care for her like a real mother herself, which even surprises mother superior as the older care takers gave up and sidelined when it came to taking care of rosy owing her arrogance.

The story- A local thug and criminal who kills people like mosquitoes Masanam (Prakash Raj) slowly rises up the ranks to be a Minister. Srikanth and Sriram are best friends. Srikanth is the only son of Radhika and Raghuvaran who is interested in anything but his academics. He falls in love with Bhumika who also eventually happens to reside opposite their house with her loud-mouthed sub-inspector Mom, Rekha. With the responsibilities of a brother to get his sisters married Sriram leaves for Libya on a job received through Srikanth's parents. He apologizes for not being able to marry Bhumika as he is a tight corner to marry somebody else for the sake of his sister's marriage.Later Bhumika leave to Mumbai after a job opportunity. Srikanth's parent comes to know the truth that he and Bhumika are not married. They accept them. Radhika know Bhumikai as the girl srikanth loved but he would not accept it since Bhumika might think wrong of him.Later in the train station things turn plates and Bhumika comes to know that she is the girl he loved and accepts him.

Thiruppaachi and Sengulam are neighboring villages with a history of enmity between them. Maayan (Manoj) and Machakanni (Riya Sen) meet on the day of her engagement and its love at first sight. Her marriage itself gets called off when the groom and his family insult Machakanni's family and her romance with Maayan continues. But when her brother finds out about him, all hell breaks loose. The turned-down bridegroom is still itching for revenge and figuring out that the only way to extract it is to marry Machakanni, he pleads for forgiveness and succeeds in melting her brother's heart. On September 16, superstar Gautham Krishna (Prakash Raj) gets ready for the release of his new film. On the same day, Traffic Constable Satyamoorthy (Cheran) joins back on duty, after having been suspended from service for taking bribes. The day is special for Dr. Robin (Prasanna) who is celebrating his first wedding anniversary. Karthik Vishwanathan (Sachin), an aspiring television journalist, starts his first job with an interview with Gautham Krishna the very same day. On the same day, at a crowded traffic junction in Chennai, Karthik, who was set to interview Gautham Krishna, and Ajmal (Mitun), traveling in a bike are hit by a speeding car at the signal, and Karthik is rushed to Global Hospital. Also at the junction, in another car, was the surgeon Dr. Robin. Karthik goes into coma and is declared brain dead although he is kept alive using ventilator. Meanwhile, Gautham's ailing daughter's (Gabriella Charlton)heart condition becomes worse and she urgently needs a heart transplant. At first Karthik's parents do not agree to take their son off the ventilator and donate their son's heart but Ajmal and Karthik's girlfriend (Parvathi Menon) persuade them into it. Now that the heart is available, the problem was transporting it from Chennai to Vellore. No chartered flights or helicopters were available and so the heart had to be taken by road. Someone had to drive the 150 kilometers in under two hours during the rush traffic.
