Animesh Mitra is simpleton who arrives at Calcutta from Jalpaiguri, during hostile times (1967), to study at the Scottish Church College. He is scheduled to take refuge at the residence of his father’s friend Mr. Debabrata, but he accidentally gets shot in the limb and ends up at the Calcutta Medical College. Eventually things move on and Animesh develops a deep friendship with Debabrata’s daughter Neela. He takes admission in the B.A classes of Scottish Church College on Bengali Literature and ultimately becomes intertwined with the unresting times of the youth intellect.

The story revolves around a brave heart Barun Biswas, portrayed by Parambrata Chatterjee, who raises voice against numerous gang rapes in a village called Dukhiya. Dukhiya, where gang rapes had become a festival. These are celebrated by some political criminals. They do not even spare children and aged females. Police also will not take up any complaints against these powerful criminals. Barun Biswas with his team forms a forum named 'Jagaran Mancha' and stands against all odds and forced the law to arrest the culprits. Eventually, the accused men get Barun Biswas murdered leaving the entire village in shock and pain. Later, Binod Bihari Dutta, portrayed by Paran Bondhopadhyay, coming to Dukhiya in search of the truth behind Barun's murder. Binod comes to know about the goons (who are by now released on bail), and the way they have terrorized the village. Binod tries to motivate villagers the way Barun did.

Lalmohan Ganguly, alias Jatayu − a sidekick of Feluda − gets invited to Mumbai (previously Bombay) to watch the shooting of a film based on a novel written by him.His old friend of Garpar road, Pulak Ghoshal (Paran Bandyopadhyay) is the director. Feluda and Topshe accompany him. The story revolves around the blatant smuggling and illegal trading in ancient sculptures across the country. Detective Feluda steps in to solve the crime and nab the culprits.
