Gabriela Anna Kownacka (née Kwasz) (25 May 1952 – 30 November 2010) was a Polish film and stage actress, best known for playing in the Polish TV series Rodzina zastępcza. Kownacka was a Lutheran.
Kownacka died on 30 November 2010, aged 58, after a long battle with breast cancer that began in 2004.
On 7 December 2010, she was interred at the Evangelical Cemetery of the Augsburg Confession in Warsaw.

The time flies and Jurek Kiler has already forgotten the fact that he used to work as a taxi driver and that he was suspected of series of murders. He is now a public person, and together with his girlfriend Ewa runs a foundation that successfully raises money from all over the world. He is now a man of a great renown as he injects a substantial sums of money into various public institutions. However, the idyllic life becomes thwarted when two murderers who do their time - Siara and Lipski - do everything to blow him away. One time they hire a world-famous Polish murderer called Szakal, other time a Cuban hireling alleged Kiler’s double who, after many attempts, fail to carry out their "responsibilities". The situation becomes even more perplexed when Lipski obtains a pass for her daughter’s wedding and gets to know that his daughter Dona falls in love with Kiler whom she wants to marry .

À la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale, le caporal-chef Klaus Schneider est blessé à la tête. À l'hôpital militaire, le docteur Bettelheim remarque les capacités particulières d'hypnotiseur de son patient et aimerait les utiliser pour les soins aux malades. Mais le capitaine Nowotny lui propose le monde clinquant des spectacles de variétés. Ils se produisent d'abord à Vienne où l'ancien caporal-chef apparaît sous le nom Hanussen, puis à Berlin. C'est là qu'il connaît le succès non seulement avec ses spectacles d'hypnose, mais aussi de voyance (on ne sait pas exactement quelle est la part de la chance et celle de l'escroquerie). Alors qu'il est clair que le parti nazi se renforce, il « prédit » l'arrivée au pouvoir d'Hitler. Le nouveau pouvoir le remarque, lui fait la cour, l'invite à des réceptions. Pendant un temps, il arrive apparemment à garder son destin en main et à trouver des échappatoires, mais il est en même temps dans une incertitude constante, car il ressent le danger. Le chef de la propagande nazie se sert d'Hanussen et lui fait « prédire » l'incendie du Reichstag. Après cela, il n'y a plus d'issue possible : Hanussen devient dangereux, il doit disparaître. Il est emmené, et dans la forêt d'automne, tout simplement fusillé.

A poet marries a peasant girl. Their wedding reception follows. The celebration of the new marriage moves on from the church to the villager's house. In the rooms adjoining that of the wedding party, guests continually burst into arguments, make love, or simply rest from their merriment, dancing and feasting. Interspersed with the real guests are the well-known figures of Polish history and culture, who represent the guilty consciences of the characters. The two groups gradually begin a series of dialogues. The Poet (played by Andrzej Łapicki) is visited successively by the Black Knight, a symbol of the nation's past military glory; the Journalist (played by Wojciech Pszoniak), then by the court jester and conservative political sage Stańczyk; and the Ghost of Wernyhora (Marek Walczewski), a paradigm of leadership for Poland. Wernyhora presents the Host with a golden horn symbolizing the national mission, and calls the Polish people to a revolt. One of the farm hands is dispatched to sound the horn at each corner of Poland, but he loses the horn soon after.
