George Augustus Webb (6 March 1911 – 30 December 1998) was an English actor, best known for his role as "Daddy" in the sitcom Keeping Up Appearances.
The son of Henry Augustus Webb (1880-1926) and Gertrude (née Bolingbroke), he had two younger siblings, Denis Alfred Webb (1913-1918), who was killed by a military vehicle aged 5 while picking flowers for his mother; and Joan Webb (1915-1989) who committed suicide after years of ill health. From his father's earlier marriage George Webb was the half-brother of the actors Rita and Harry Webb. George Webb died of natural causes on 30 December 1998 aged 87. He left a son, Michael Webb.

Constance, jeune musicienne, tombe éperdument amoureuse d'un chef d'orchestre très célèbre : Frantz Roberti. Il la demande en mariage et lui jure un amour absolu. Lorsqu'elle comprend que cet amour idéal n'existe pas, elle le quitte, souffre à s'en rendre malade puis pour l'oublier, s'étourdit dans une vie mondaine qu'elle ne connaissait pas avec Johnny, le meilleur ami de son mari. Frantz se rend compte après l'avoir perdue, que la perte de cet amour le plonge dans l'abîme. Mais Johnny avoue à constance son amour et la demande en mariage. Elle comprend alors qu'elle n'a jamais cessé d'aimer Frantz.

Based upon a description in a film magazine, Martin Flint (Bosworth) and his son Luther (Hughes) are partners in a deep sea diving business, and a promoter tries to interest them in a fraudulent scheme to extract treasure from a sunken wreck. The father declines, but the son accepts, attracted by a young woman with the promoter, whom Luther then marries. She later leaves him, and Luther becomes delirious, so the father goes to an underworld dive in an attempt to get her back. Later, a steamer sinks after a collision with a derelict, carrying the promoter and Luther's wife to their deaths. Luther refuses to accept his father's story that the woman was worthless, and dives on the sunken steamer only to discover his wife embraced in the arms of her lover.
