Lars Ingvar Hirdwall (born December 5, 1934), is a Swedish actor.
Hirdwall was born in Stockholm, and was educated at Gothenburg City Theatre stage school 1957-1960. Since the early 1960s he has been active as an actor in many films, TV series and on theatrical stages, mainly Stockholms stadsteater. He is well known in Sweden, often portraying obstinate or strange characters, like the eccentric neighbor in the many Swedish Martin Beck TV-movies made from 1997 on. He was also often in director Lars Molin's productions. In December 1993, Hirdwall played the leading role in the Swedish TV company SVT's annual children's Christmas “Advent calendar” - Tomtemaskinen (The mechanical santa), one of the Pettson and Findus stories by Sven Nordqvist - with one 15-minute part shown each day up until Christmas Eve. Hirdwall played the character of Pettson.

Hirdwall received the Swedish Guldbagge Award for Best Actor at the 17th Guldbagge Awards for Barnens ö (Children's Island) and the Thaliapriset prize in 1993.

Hirdwall is married to the actress Marika Lindström. They have two children, director Jacob Hirdwall and actress Agnes Hirdwall.

In a playground in the centre of the urban idyll, the police find a buried wooden box containing a famous and well-respected prosecutor. Martin Beck and his police team initially suspect a highly criminal MC-leader of the attack, but one pretty soon has to re-evaluate the case once the MC-leader is found murdered in a similar wooden box. Soon, more wooden boxes are found and the police realize that they are part of a cat and mouse game with a crazy serial killer. The investigation soon shows that there is a vague connection between the victims in the shape of a 9 year old event, but what Martin Beck does not suspect is that his own life too is at stake, as the murderer has chosen him as the next victim.

Martin Beck and his colleagues linked the discovery of a burned female body in the hunt for a group of peaceful environmentalists who instead turns out to be minted to engage in terrorism across borders. The known lawyer Patrik Hansson is found brutally murdered in his home. The murder looks initially quite simple- the lawyer has been involved in a case where a company has been indicted for lying behind a serious environmental crime . When Beck and his colleague Klingström go through the lawyer's office they find evidence that gives new light to the investigation - but who is it who pulled the strings, and why? To find the solution they have to dig further into the lawyer's past and find a picture that is even more complicated than they initially thought.
