William Paul Petersen (born September 23, 1945) is an American actor, singer, novelist, and activist.
Petersen first rose to prominence in the 1950s playing Jeff Stone on The Donna Reed Show, and transitioned to a singing career in the 1960s. In the early 1980s, he had a recurring role as a police officer on Matt Houston, and in the late 1990s, he played the author Paul Conway in the film, Mommy's Day.
In 1990, Petersen established the organization A Minor Consideration to support child stars and other child laborers through legislation, family education, and personal intervention and counseling for those in crisis.
In addition to his two children from his second marriage, Petersen also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

Petersen has been married three times. His first marriage was to actress Brenda Benet. They married in 1967 and divorced in 1970. In 1974, he married Hallie Litman with whom he had two children. They divorced in 1988. In December 1992, Petersen married Rana Jo Platz to whom he is still married.In addition to his two children from his second marriage, Petersen also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

In this sequel to 1995's Mommy, Mrs. Sterling (Patty McCormack), who had been convicted of murder and sentenced to death, escapes execution when she is wounded in a prison breakout attempt. While she is recovering, a physician convinces the courts that she would be able to live in a halfway house if she takes a violence-suppressing drug that he designed. Although her parole forbids contact with her daughter (who is now living with her sister and brother-in-law), she violates her parole by secretly visiting her one night. When people who are trying to keep her from seeing her daughter start turning up murdered, a local cop starts investigating her.

John Killibrew, a blacksmith, had convinced a number of settlers to follow him to California and found the town of Arkana. When the railroad comes through the area in 1870 but bypasses the settlement, the townspeople blame him. Ten years later, when a steam engine falls off of a train into a pond, Killibrew gets an idea. He goes to San Francisco and buys the steam engine from the insurance company that had paid off on the claim. Meanwhile, Mary Duren had been teaching Killibrew how to read and developed an attraction for him, to which Killibrew is at least initially oblivious. When he returns to the town, no one will help him recover the engine, in part because the site is in the middle of hostile Indian country. Then Mary buys the mules he needs and travels with Killibrew to the site. John and Mary dig a trench to drain the pond in which the steam engine is sunk. During this time John proposes to Mary and they become engaged. However, her three brothers, who had been using Mary as their housekeeper and cook, track down John and Mary and force them into a shotgun wedding. When they return, the engine is not in the drained pond. The pair track it down and discover it was taken by the Indians. Since Killibrew used to live with the Indians many years ago, earning the sobriquet "Big Beaver", he persuades them to give the engine back to him. John and Mary haul the engine back towards the town through rain, facing a bear and temporarily losing it in a cave-in. The wagon with the engine gets stuck in a hole. The townspeople ride out and offer to help, but Killibrew, remembering their earlier refusal turns them down. When he says he doesn't need anybody to help, even Mary leaves him, as a torrential rain pours down. The banker in town plots to take the steam engine in lieu of $316.82 Killibrew owes to the bank. When Killibrew refuses to sell to the bank, the banker serves a writ on Killibrew. After Killibrew beats up the posse, Killibrew submits to arrest. Mary talks the women of the town into trying to lynch the sheriff. Mary sells enough shares in the steam engine to pay John's debt and the sheriff prudently decides to drop the other charges against Killibrew. The steam engine is hauled into town. John and Mary sneak off for their honeymoon.

Tony fait un complexe d'infériorité face à l'éducation d'Anne et, sous le prétexte qu'elle est inadaptée pour la place, fait tout pour qu'elle parte. Mais Anne réussit à se faire accepter par les employés et les artistes et même par la clientèle interlope. Il lui faudra cependant beaucoup de doigté et de patience pour établir un vrai contact avec Tony qui n'a de cesse de vouloir la protéger d'un milieu qu'il juge préjudiciable pour elle. Jusqu'au soir où Anne, tombée sous le charme de ses allures de mauvais garçon, lui fait sa déclaration d'amour au grand désarroi de celui-ci dont la vie amoureuse n'est qu'une succession de conquêtes faciles.
