Biographie
Born and brought up in village Dhilwan near Faridkot, Punjab, Samuel John did his graduation in humanities from Kotkapura and then post-graduation in Theatre and Television from Punjabi University, Patiala. The theme of the film POLICE IN POLLYWOOD-BALLE BALLE by Gautam Productions is that Police people will now direct and produce Punjabi films. It sounds like as if someone toothless is trying to eat almonds. Think for a while - what will happen to film makers if Police people start making films, because they are used to get every work done forcibly, by the power of a stick. In a gentlemanly way, they cannot offer water to anybody even from the place for free service of drinking water. Poor fellows- they might be good at hearts but they are slaves to their habits.

Dans un petit village du Punjab, les paysans gagnent leur vie à grand peine et les rituels qui rythment leurs journées révèlent autant leur impuissance que la colère qui monte en eux. La situation empire quand le propriétaire terrien vend son domaine à une entreprise industrielle qui détruit la maison d'un villageois qui refuse de la quitter. « Le Père » d'une famille d'intouchables se joint à la communauté pour réclamer justice alors que son fils est parti à la petite ville voisine pour devenir conducteur de rickshaw. Ce dernier participe à une grève qui tourne à l'affrontement violent au cours duquel il est blessé.
