Ajouter à une liste de filmsMrugaya (Malayalam: മൃഗയ, meaning The Hunt) is a 1989 Malayalam action drama film written by AK Lohithadas and directed by IV Sasi. The film stars Mammootty, Sunitha in the lead role with Thilakan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Lalu Alex, Urvashi in supporting roles.
Mrugaya tells the story of Varunni (Mammootty), the uncultured and drunkard hunter arrived in the village to kill a man-eating leopard. The film was a success at the box-office and won two Kerala State Film Awards.
The leopard, used in a number of scenes in the film, was loaned out by animal trainer Govindarajan Naidu.
Synopsis
The story takes place in a hillside village, terrorised by the frequent attacks of a man-eating leopard. Tired of waiting for help from the authorities, the villagers under Reverend Father Panangodan (Thilakan) and Philipose Muthalali (Jagannatha Varma) decide to hire a hunter. The hunter whom they wanted had recently died, so his son Varunni (Mammootty) is summoned to the village. The uncultured life of Varunni soon became a headache for the village. The villagers try to avoid the drunkard hunter from their lives.Acteurs

Vasu and Chacko are working as drivers and low ranking workers for the Abkari contractor Sreekandan. Sreekandan is heavily involved in the smuggling of liquor from the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu in order to increase the already high profits in his business. Chacko once makes an incorrect move to seduce the wife of Sreekandan, hoping that she is just waiting for any new man to come into her love life. But she only wanted to have an affair with Vasu. Sreekandan comes to know about this, and Chacko is beaten black and blue and thrown out of the organisation.

The film opens with an illegal cockfighting competition held in a small village in central Kerala. Suddenly police enters in to the field and arrests Shivan (Mammootty), and Suku (Lalu Alex) for holding money betting. But on way, they are saved by village youths under Chellan (Bharath Gopi), a local goon, who is also a close buddy of Shivan. Both Chellan and Shivan share a strong friendship and are more like brothers. Shivan is in love with Chellan's younger sister (Seema) and Chellan and his mom have given green signal to it. Chandri ( Urvashi), the sister of Shivan, is his everything and his whole happiness revolves around her. Bhadran (Mohanlal), the younger brother of Chellan is too aggressive like him and picks up fight for every silly reasons. Its usually Shivan, who sorts out the fights that he picks up every day. Things are going very smoothy until one day Chandri gets pregnant. Chandri, in order to pacify Shivan reveals him that it is Chellan, who is responsible for this, whereas it was Thampi, her neighbor who was actually responsible. Shivan, in a sudden rage kills Chellan and surrenders at police station himself. Bhadran, but turns violent by this incident and vows to take revenge.

Jiya, daughter of James and Lisa and grand daughter of Mrs. Koshi, who enjoyed her teenage like a 'white feather' (Vellathooval). She is very conservative and have her own views. Manu gets fed up with his life. After his father's death, his mother marries Vijayaraghavan. He is always drunk and tortures Manu and his mom. So Manu fights with him and leaves home. He thinks he could become a murderer if he stays at home. Meantime Jiya also leaves her home. She goes with Manu. Manu advices jiya to go back to home many times, but she didn't agree with him. Simultaneously Jiya and Manu were becoming very good friends but the society misunderstood them and considered them lovers. Her uncle the City Police Commissioner Abi (K B Ganesh kumar) and his teams search every corners for them. At last Jiya injures a young college mate Willy in the stomach. He dies in the hospital. Willy's friends and police follow Jiya and Manu.
