The movie is a digitalized sequel version to the 1984 Malayalam hit, first 3D Indian film My Dear Kuttichathan, added with some extra footages. Veteran film maker Rama Narayanan launches this movie through his Thenaandaal Movies banner. The additional scenes will have Prakash Raj and Santhanam donning the roles. Legendary composer Ilayaraja has written the music while Madhan Karki has penned the lyrics.

The character 'Kuttichathan' is formed on the basis of the specialties of a deity popularly known as 'Chathan' who is being worshiped mainly in the south Indian state, Kerala. There are cruel magicians everywhere in the world. One of them is the Karimbhootham (black magician), who enslaved an invisible spirit with his magic spells, whom he calls Kuttichathan ("Little Ghost" in English and "Chhota Chetan" in Hindi). Two boys and a girl befriend Kuttichathan by accident and release him from the grip of the magician. They understand that this Chathan is friendly to kids and is a very good friend. Therefore, the girl promises to keep Kuttichathan in a house for two reasons: one, her father drinks too much, so she wants Chathan, who is a very good magician, to make him himself, as her mother has died, there is no one to control him; second, Chathan, being a small boy, also drinks a lot. He could drink all that her father drinks, thereby changing her father's attitude.

Deepika (Kamna) can't bear with the control her mother (Vani Viswanath)imposes on her life by . In order to make her mother angry, she uploads some hot pictures of herself and emails them to a fictitious name, "T.Mahesh". However, there seems to exist a T.Mahesh (Ravi) who is a catering student. Rasu (Santhanam) and Mokkai ('Ganja' Karuppu) are youngsters sharing a hostel with a diverse group of people including a professor (Madan Bob), a staunch atheist (Rajesh), a poet and other unemployed, struggling men. Rasu, who works in a coffee shop, is in love with Mahishasuramardhini (Madhumita), but she seemingly ignores all his advances. Rasu was even attacked by her brother after hanging around her house for extended periods of time. Mokkai, who is unemployed due to his lack of education, and does whatever job he can find, dreams of marrying his uncle's daughter back in his village. After a particularly bad day where Mokkai is arrested and beaten by female police officers, Rasu's lies of being in a well-paid job are uncovered (to the disgust of Mahishasuramardhini), the two are also kicked out of the hostel by the owner due to the inability to pay rent. On their last night, both vent their frustration at God after heavy drinking. Both are shocked when GOD(Prakashraj) appears in front of them. Mistaking Him for another unemployed fellow, the two head back to their hostel room only to find God waiting for them in it, waving aside this miracle, all three fall asleep. The next morning, God finally manages to convince Rasu and Mokkai of his true identity after appearing in the forms of Vishnu, Jesus and the Buddha.

Simbhu is elected college chairman after he beats Charmi, the daughter of Ravishankar(Radharavi), a minister. Predictably, the two soon fall for each other though they never directly reveal it. But when Ravishankar comes to know of the love affair, he is staunchly against it, and is willing to go any distance to make sure that it never succeeds. At home, Simbu's father(Prakashraj) mentally tortures his wife(Seetha) since he suspects her of having an affair with her ex-lover.
