The film was released by First National Pictures, a subsidiary of Warner Bros., and directed by Frank Lloyd. It stars Billie Dove, Antonio Moreno, Emile Chautard and Lucy Doraine. The film was also issued in a shorter silent version for theatres that were not yet wired for sound.
Synopsis
Russian prince (Antonio Moreno), upon returning from the front, sees his wife (Billie Dove) in the company of a blackguard count. Prince becomes jealous, and, later, while attempting to break into the count's home, both he and the count are knocked unconscious by the mob. Prince, wife and count escape from Russia and eventually get to Paris, where wife is able to convince prince that it was her maid who went to the count's home.Acteurs

1754, dans la colonie britannique de Virginie. Le jeune Matthew Howard apprend le décès de son père et de son oncle, lors d'une escarmouche au début de la guerre de Sept Ans. Douze ans après, en 1766, à Williamsburg, capitale de la colonie, Matthew devenu adulte retrouve son ami d'enfance Thomas Jefferson et rencontre la famille Peyton, les deux frères Fleetwood et Roger, et leur sœur Jane dont il tombe amoureux et qui accepte de l'épouser malgré leur différence sociale. Le couple s'installe sur le domaine d'Albermale, dans la vallée de Shenandoah et y édifie une plantation. Mais au tournant des années 1770, les taxes et impôts imposés par la Couronne sont de plus en plus mal reçus par les colons et la révolte enfle, annonciatrice de la Guerre d'indépendance, à laquelle Matthew Howard prend une part active (d'abord membre de la chambre des Bourgeois de Virginie, il intègre ensuite l'armée continentale, où le rejoindront ses deux fils, Peyton et James), s'opposant ainsi aux convictions de sa femme et de son beau-frère Fleetwood.

In the late eighteenth century, Lady Hamilton has had a somewhat turbulent relationship with the British people, especially the aristocracy. Born Emma Hart from a very humble background (she being the daughter of a cook), she was seen as being vulgar by the rich, but equally captivating for her beauty. In a move to protect his inheritance, Honorable Charles Greville, Emma's then lover and her mother's employer, sent Emma to Naples under false pretenses to live with his uncle, Sir William Hamilton, where she would study to become a lady. Surprisingly to Greville whose deception Emma would eventually discover, Emma ended up becoming Hamilton's wife in a marriage of convenience. But it is Emma's eventual relationship with Horatio Nelson of the British navy that would cause the largest issue. A move by Lady Hamilton helped Nelson's armada defeat Napoleon's fleet in naval battles, which Nelson would have ultimately lost without Lady Hamilton's help. Beyond the dangers of war, Lady Hamilton and Nelson's relationship is ultimately threatened by the court of public opinion as both are married to other people.

At the instigation of his half brother Lionel (Lloyd Hughes), Oliver Tressilian (Milton Sills), a wealthy baronet, is shanghaied and blamed for the death of Peter Godolphin (Wallace MacDonald), brother of Oliver's fiancée, whom Lionel actually has slain. Pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, plusieurs jeunes aviateurs anglais sont hébergés dans la ferme des Berthelot près du front.
