The film is not a sequel to the 2009 Bengali film Challenge; it contains a very different storyline. Major parts of the movie were shot in Malaysia, Dubai and Mumbai besides Kolkata. Challenge 2 is a remake of 2011 Telugu film Dookudu, directed by Srinu Vaitla and starring Mahesh Babu and Samantha.
Synopsis
IPS Officer Abhiraj Roy a.k.a. Abhi (Dev) is a daring super-cop in Mumbai. He is on a mission to apprehend a mafia don, Guru Nayak (Ashish Vidyarthi), who is involved in illegal drug trade, extortion, and arms trafficking. His father, Debraj Roy (Tapas Paul), who was a politician driven by idealistic values and a sense of social service, met with a fatal accident. It is later revealed that Debraj actually survived the accident but ended up in a state of coma. However, this truth is hidden by their family from the people. Abhi maintains a low profile to catch Guru Nayak. In an undercover operation in Malaysia, Abhi gets hold of Guru Nayak's brother Bunty (Surajit Sen). Later, it is revealed that one corrupt businessman, Apurba Ghosh (Dipankar Dey), was the mastermind behind Debraj's accident.Acteurs

The film is about Surya Narayan (Jeet) who was once a software engineer but quits his job to give it to his friend and is unemployed in the city of Cooch Behar. Poulomi (Sayantika Banerjee) is a girl from Kolkata who studies in college and comes to Cooch Behar for her vacation to stay with her elder brother Madan Mohan (Kharaj Mukherjee) and his wife. Surya falls in love with Poulomi at first sight and starts chasing her to win her heart and enters the upper portion of their house as tenants with his brother, Upendra Narayan (Biswajit Chakraborty) and sister in law (Tulika Basu). In this process Surya will have clash with local rowdy Shanatan Panja (Tamal Roychowdhury). Mistaking him to be one tapori, Poulomi hates him first but later on she realizes his true nature . She returns to Kolkata and lives with her older brother (Ashish Vidyarthi), a former builder and now a very powerful rowdy who is very possessive and protective about his sister. Surya follows Poulomi to Kolkata and works his way into their house with the help of Madan Mohan and finally both of them confess their love. There, Surya knows the flashback of Poulomi and how she is being chased by the notorious and cruel Tony Bharadwaj (Mukul Dev) assisted by his uncle (Supriyo Dutta) for marriage. Surya fights Tony, Poulomi's older brother kills Tony, and Surya marries Poulomi.

Dev (Dev) is a high school drop out from and a worthless village lad. He is hell bent on getting married. But the girl he wants to marry rejects him stating that he doesn't have college education. Dev, who is clever and street-smart decides to go to Kolkata for further education. While travelling in the train, he bashes up a bunch of rowdies teasing college girls. In this story Krish (played by Dev) is the hero and Bhoomi (played by Subhashree Ganguly) is the leading heroine. Krish is the son of a rich man. Krish (has love interest in Megha (Nusrat Jahan). Megha also loves Krish a.k.a. Krishna. Their relationship goes fine until Megha meets Bhoomi (Subhashree Ganguly) and they become best friends. Bhoomi tells her best friend Megha about his rowdy and tough cousin who her family wants her to get married to but she does not want to marry. Megha gets worried about her friend and tells the problem to her boyfriend, Krish. Megha makes Bhoomi meet Krish and tells Krish to act as if Krish is Bhoomi's boyfriend and let Bhoomi's family know that Bhoomi is in a relationship with Krish. Krish does not agree at first but later agrees to help out Bhoomi. In the meantime, Bhoomi fall in love with Krish in reality. Krish also gets close to Bhoomi. Later, one day Krish gets to know that Megha and Bhoomi's fathers are step-brothers and they have a family rivalry between them from ages. Krish meets the two brother's father (Haradhan Bandopadhyay) and gets to know why they have the rivalry and also gets to know that grandfather wants them to be together again. The grandfather gives the responsibility to Krish to get the two families together again and if he is successful he will get Megha or Bhoomi- whoever he is in love with hand in marriage. Krish falls in a big problem as he is not interested in all this family rivalry. But later he decides to get the family together. In the meantime, Megha gets the wrong idea that Krish and Bhoomi is cheating her and Krish is in love with Bhoomi and not her. Due to the untimely death of Late Shri Haradhan Bandopadhay,the climax of the movie was changed which made it different from the original story of Brindavanam where Krish marries Bhoomi as Meera explained.

An auto driver(Kushal Chakraborty), sees Lucky Bhai (Rahul Dev) murder a journalist. The auto driver manages to capture Lucky Bhai & his henchman, and hold them until the Police arrive. The film is a love story between a rich boy and a poor girl. Although they have been friends for years, Indra and Shantanu have grown apart and have little in common. The widowed Indra is a poor engineer who lives in a humble house in the country. Shantanu is a rich man with a vast business empire, with little time for old friends. They humiliate Puja and accuse her of scheming to marry Rahul. Puja leaves in tears and distances herself from Rahul. At that point, Rahul suddenly realizes that he has fallen in love with her. With aid of his mother (who likes the unassuming Puja) and his comic friend Manohar, Rahul sets out to win Puja's heart.
