The plot of the movie is centered in the city of Karlovac in 1992, during the Croatian War of Independence. The front lines, where Croatian and Serbian forces fight each other, lie near the city. Meanwhile, in the city of Karlovac, a Serbian civilian Vasić is murdered. The film centers on the Croatian island of Vis in 1998. During the funeral of local Partisan, his Partisan comrades see the ghost of Marshal Josip Broz Tito. Soon the news spreads around and also other people claim to see the Marshal's ghost. Soon, the policeman Stjepan (Dražen Kühn) arrives on the island and decides to investigate the whole situation. Meanwhile the mayor Luka (Ivo Gregurević) smells a business opportunity and begins to organize communist-era events to attract tourism. However, local Partisan veterans of the 7th Dalmatian Brigade, led by Marinko (Ilija Ivezić) decide to take arms and control the town, turning it into the communist-era shape.

Un prêtre, Fabijan, est envoyé sur une petite île de la mer Adriatique pour prendre la succession du prêtre Jakov dans la paroisse. The film has been described as a "lighthearted comedy" and centers on Melita Žganjer (Mirjana Rogina), a 30-something single woman who works as a vendor in a small cake shop in Zagreb. Melita is infatuated with Juan (Filip Šovagović), a character in a popular Spanish telenovela aired on local TV, and at the same time tries to get Janko (Goran Navojec), the cake delivery man, to notice her. Her affection for Janko goes unnoticed and Melita turns to Jura (Ivo Gregurević), a police officer and colleague of her roommate Eva (Sanja Vejnović). However, Melita soon finds Jura's interest in her superficial and, upon hearing that Juan would come to Zagreb to play an UNPROFOR soldier in a locally produced film dealing with the Croatian War of Independence, Melita succeeds in meeting him, but is immediately disappointed as the Spanish actor is nothing like his character in the telenovela. In the end, Melita learns that Janko likes her and ends up with him.

L'action se déroule en 1946 dans un hôpital de campagne américain en Normandie.
