José Luis Garci won the Oscar to Best Foreign picture the next year with his next film "Volver a Empezar" ("Begin The Beguine"), the first Oscar won by Spanish cinema. The plot was inspired by the novels written by Dashiell Hammett, to whom the film is dedicated. It is a detective film and basically a Spanish film noir.
Synopsis
Le détective privé Germán Areta reçoit un client en phase terminale qui souhaite voir sa fille en fuite, perdue depuis longtemps, avant sa mort. Mais quand Areta commence à enquêter sur l'affaire, cela le conduit dans les entrailles sombres de Madrid où il découvre qu'il n'est pas le seul à rechercher la jeune fille. Quelqu'un d'autre s'intéresse aussi à elle, quelqu'un de puissant et de dangereux qui ne recule devant rien...Acteurs
