Evangeline is a 1929 silent film directed by Edwin Carewe and starring Dolores Del Rio. An Arthur Hopkins produced play made it to Broadway in 1913. It is the last silent film version of the poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. This film was released with a Vitaphone disc selection of dialogue, music and sound effects.

The plotline has Lopez (Holbrook Blinn) and his band of outlaws living from the proceeds gained as a result of theft and confiscation of property, which means goods belonging to anyone wealthy enough to possess anything of value. One of those is rancher Gilbert Jones (Jack Mulhall), whose cattle losses are pushing him to the edge of bankruptcy.
