The film's star cast includes Amitabh Bachchan and Sunny Deol along with Raveena Tandon, Chunky Pandey, Jaya Prada, Sonam, Vinod Mehra, Nutan, Anupam Kher, Prem Chopra, Alok Nath and Aftab Shivdasani.
The film began production in 1989 and was originally set for release in 1991. Two of the film's stars Vinod Mehra and Nutan died before the film's delayed release in 1994. This was the last released film of Amitabh Bachchan who at the time retired temporarily from films in 1992.
Synopsis
Inspector Amar (Amitabh Bachchan) is an honest and dedicated police officer who discovers that underworld don Brijbhan (Anupam Kher) is behind all the terrorist activities in India. He also discovers that some of his police officers in his station have been corrupted and are secretly working with Brijbhan. To help him in his battle against Brijbhan he sets out to bring together two warring gang leaders Karim (Sunny Deol) and Hari (Chunky Pandey). Karim and Hari are longtime enemies who constantly fight in gang wars because of their different religion backgrounds. Once Amar persuades them to put aside their differences, they join him in his war against corruption and terrorism.Acteurs

Vishwatma is the story of a man named Prabhat Singh (Sunny Deol) who is an honest and dedicated police officer. He usually has no time for his family and his father is constantly at loggerheads with him. His father believes in peace and opposes bloodshed and disturbance in the country. Prabat is currently on a mission to apprehend the most dreaded crime lord Ajgar Jurrat (Amrish Puri) who lives in Kenya but operates in India. Things take a turn for the worse when Prabhat kills Ajgar's brother in an encounter. An angered Ajgar abducts and kills Prabat's school-going brother. Prabhat's family is devastated and his father blames him for his brother's death. Prabhat's father disowns him from the family. Meanwhile, one of Ajgar's men turns against him and threatens to turn him in to the police. Fearing his arrest, Ajgar has the man, Madan Bhardwaj (Mangal Dhillon) killed on the night of his wedding. Ajgar's son also molests Madan's wife, leaving her traumatised. Thus, Madan's brother Akash Bhardwaj (Chunky Pandey) swears revenge on Ajgar. But Ajgar flees to Kenya and it's almost impossible to bring him back to India in order to try him in court. So, the police commissioner (Dalip Tahil) decides to look for Prabat as he is the only one who can achieve the impossible. Prabhat moves to a remote corner of a distant village in India after his dad disowns him. Prabat's dad also changes his mind and decides to go to persuade Prabhat to take on the mission to bring Ajgar back to India.Prabhat agrees to take on the mission but insists that Akash also join him. Akash agrees as well. And they fly all the way to Kenya on a mission to bring the dreaded criminal to justice in India. There, Prabhat and Akash find Madan's sister-in-law Renuka (Sonam) who's also on the same mission. She helps them get to Ajgar. But this task is not as easy as they may have thought as Ajgar is a respected citizen in Kenya. Prabhat and Akash seek the help of another honest cop, Surya Pratap (Naseeruddin Shah) to apprehend Ajgar. However, Surya Pratap thinks Ajgar is an honorable man. Akash falls in love with Ajgar's daughter, Sonia (Jyotsna Singh) and Prabhat falls for Kusum (Divya Bharti). Renuka falls in love with Surya, despite knowing he has a daughter. Surya's wife committed suicide while Ajgar's son tried to molest her. When Surya learns that Ajgar's son was the reason behind his wife's death, he sets out to take revenge against Ajgar as well.

Kandivli-based Sachidanand Agnihotri is a honest school-teacher, who has always faced problems due to his honesty, first with Poornima School; then in a Government school, and now he has come forward to testify against the sexual assault and murder of a young woman from Worli. Sachidanand points an accusing finger at Nagesh, the son of prominent and influential Jaspal Rana. Then the Police, headed by a corrupt Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kamble, attempt to intimidate Sachidanand and follow him everywhere on the pretext of protecting him. Sachidanand is literally driven out of his mind, and on the day of the testimony, Nagesh's lawyer, Ashok Pradhan, confuses him to such an extent that Sachidanand kills himself. Vishal, who is being held in prison for assaulting several policemen, breaks out, abducts Nagesh, and then kills Ashok Pradhan. When Kamble comes to Nagesh's rescue, Vishal kills both of them. He then hunts down Jaspal and eventually kills him. On the run from the Police, he recruits prominent advocate, Khurana, who defends him and gets him acquitted. After the acquittal, instead of thanking his lawyer, Vishal surprisingly kills him in open court.

A woman Neha (Ramya Krishnan) witnesses the murder of a friend of her named Madhu (Divya Dutta) by a notorious smuggler Zorawar (Paresh Rawal) but she skips while being chased by Zorawar's goons and ends up in the secure custody of police inspector Arjun Singh (Amitabh Bachchan), a friend of police inspector Pyare Mohan (Govinda). In reality, Neha, unaware of their identities, believes Arjun to be "Pyare", about whom she was agreeably apprised of by Madhu, and so, Arjun has to impersonate Pyare, giving rise to hilarious situations. Concurrently, Pyare flirts with Seema (Raveena Tandon) - Arjun's sister. Everything could have been passable for the two cops if two lookalikes of the cops, by the nicknames "Bade Miyan" (Amitabh Bachchan) and "Chote Miyan" (Govinda) had not been a cause of concern for them because of the misdeeds they commit leading to Arjun and Pyare being accused as the miscreants everytime. With background scores of the songs (specially "Bade Miyan Toh Bade Miyan") that stir the listeners, the movie advances through scenes of thrill and amusement.

In a kingdom stricken with drought for past few years, Arvasu (Milind Soman), a brahman loves Nittilai (Sonali Kulkarni) a tribal girl, who seeks approval of her father and village's elders before marrying him.
