Like I Am Kalam it is also a children's cinema where Lehar Khan, Krishang Trivedi and Harsh Mayar (who won the National Film Awards for the best child artist in 2010) are on lead as child artists and Parvin Dabas, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Rahul Singh, Suhasini Mulay and V.M. Badola are on supporting roles.
The movie centered on the issue of female foeticide is an adventure film, which is screened at Marche du Cannes film festival.
The movie has been nominated at the prestigious Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA). The sixth APSA ceremony will be organised at Queensland, Australia on November 23, 2012.
The movie has been sent to the Academy of Motion Pictures as a direct entry for the Oscar Awards in the foreign film category.
Recently the film received the prestigious Audience Choice Award in Minsk International Film Festival in Belarus & selected as an official entry for International Film Festival in Montreal which will take place in March 2013. The film also won MIP Junior Kids Jury Award at Cannes in October 2012.
Synopsis
A well-heeled family from tony neighborhood of New Delhi travels from the city through dusty roads that lead into the Madhogarh village, district Mahendragarh in Haryana, far out and buried in the debris of the past. Shreya, the tomboy of the family, finally arrives at her father’s village for the first time during her vacations, that too after coaxing her father, Dev, to the best of her abilities. She and her brother, Sam, had, in their imagination, spun the village right out of a fairytale, replete with streams, lakes and grasslands that will allow them to run free. But all they find are dusty alleys, dried up ponds and hostile playmates until they spin their magic and befriend this unknown place, especially some of its people, like the Pehelwan and the gang of kids led by Ajithe. The story revolves around Shreya and Sam’s adventures and misadventures which turn this dull place bereft of water into a land of enchantment, mischief and a million exciting exploits. But unknown places have many secrets, and here too, secret lurk at every corner. Strangely behaving villagers, a witch whom everyone seems to be terrified of, and a no-access zone beyond the hills intrigue Shreya, more so after housemaid Shabri tells her various mysterious stories about the village. Then, one night, Shreya sees Shabri and her husband Trilochan slink away, and starts following them, only to find out a horrifying secret the village harbors.Acteurs

Kaun Kitne Paani Mein is a story about two villages, Upri and Bairi. Upri is a village nestled in the hills and Bairi is at the base of the Hill Range although close to each other in proximity, are poles apart in every other measure as of water access and economic development. Upri is a village which had great economic and social status in the past and Bairi was then economically weaker. Upri was economically and class wise powerful in the past due to the land they had and the water fall from the hills as well as the large lake that was naturally created at the edge of Upri. The people of Upri were like royalty and they had used the people of Bairi as their employees. This had made the people of Bairi skilled in their work and also become good farmers. The people of Upri who assumed these good times would remain never planned for a rainy day and lived a rich life splurging on all the resources.

The movie starts with a TV crew interviewing Prof. Tiwari (Pankaj Kapur) about the events that had occurred in reference to the movie shootouts and eradication of organized crime in Lucknow and surrounding areas. Since a young age, Ajay Kumar (Arshad Warsi) has been traumatized by the death of his army officer father, who killed himself with his service revolver when accused of being a deserter, leaving his widow Prabha (Suhasini Mulay) to bring up Ajay on her own. Ajay grows up, studies hard and successfully becomes an Indian Police Service officer with the title of Senior Superintendent of Police of Lucknow. Due to his honesty, he gets transferred to various states in India, around 14 times in eight years. At his new posting in Uttar Pradesh, he comes to terms with a new criminal boss and ruthless killer, Gajraj Singh (Sushant Singh). Ajay engineers the setting up of a Special Task Force to deal with Gajraj. However, he also runs into problems as Gajraj is politically well-connected. Gajraj continues to elude the Task Force, using more modern technology such as the use of cell phones. But the Task Force recovers and is able to monitor Gajraj's cell phones with the help of Prof. Tiwari. They find out that Gajraj is planning to contest the elections and if he wins, no police officer of any rank, even the Task Force, would then dare to arrest him or even consider him a suspect, which may well result in the Task Force being mere paper tigers. They have a final confrontation inside a train which leaves from Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station. All the officers in the Task Force as well as members of Gajraj's gang kill each other in the fight, leaving Prof. Tiwari as the only witness.
