After beginning production in 2006, the film went through production troubles before releasing on 30 January 2015.
Synopsis
Dharani (Bharath), an intrepid college student, drops Anjali (Nila), who is running away from home to escape a marriage with her rowdy uncle Bhavani (Vincent Asokan), at the bus stand but Bhavani and her arrogant mother Angayarkanni (Roja) mistake him for her lover. Now, Dharani and his family become their targets but they hardly realize that he is more than a match for them.Acteurs

The story is set in a suburb of Madurai. Suryan (Bharath) and Chandran (Bharath) are twins. Parvathiamma(Latha) is the domineering mother of three sons Kandha(Prabhu), Kadamba(S.V.Sekhar) and Kathirvela(Vivek), who do her every bidding. They move around in an auto and work at their own hotel. Parvatiamma has disavowed her only daughter ever since she ran away with a barber Vedivelan(Vadivelu). Now the daughter's wish is to have her brothers present at the function of her son. Vadivelan takes this task upon himself and enters the household. His first job is to fix up the marriages of the sons with Rupini(Roja), Ragini(Sarala) and Rohini(Nirosha). Parvatiamma counterattacks by first ejecting him from the house and then separating her sons from their wives. Whether the couples reunite and Vedivelan succeeds or not forms the rest of the story.

Rangan (Nasser) is a very ugly man and therefore lives a tough life. He is kicked out of jobs, ill-treated constantly, and the girl he loves hates him. (Think "The Elephant Man.") Then one day, Rangan goes to the house of his make-up artist friend (Manivannan) and finds a strange mask that he picks up and wears. The mask adheres to his face, and Rangan becomes very handsome. (Think "The Mask"). With the Mask, Rangan generates followers, becomes a film star, and gets a wife who loves him solely for his handsome face (Roja). Nearing the end, Rangan takes off the Mask for a moment, and wishes people would respect him for who he is on the inside. His wife walks in, sees his ugly face, and throws him out, mistaking him for a robber. Rangan's former followers throw him to the side. Deciding that only beauty can bring him respect, Rangan puts the mask back on.

The film begins at a fishing hamlet in Tamil Nadu where an elderly Rajashekar (Sarath Kumar) is worshipped as "God Father" by many. His amiable ways of living won him many friends. His son Vettrivel (younger Sarath Kumar) is an acclaimed scientist. He is received with gusto by the whole village after he returns winning awards from Central government. Unfortunately a glance at a vernacular on a new report on Malaysia shocks Rajashekar, who immediately develops cardiac arrest and dies. Vettrivel comes to know about the incident and decides to unravel the mystery behind his death. He sets off to Malaysia. Vettrivel gets acquainted with a local reporter Inba (Farzana), who falls for Vettrivel. With her help, he finds find out a disturbing truth about his father’s life. Rajashekar is former police officer in Malaysia who falls to the conspiracy of a baddie and arrested for no fault of his. Rajashekar eventually pays the price for being honest by losing his family and settles down in Tamil Nadu with his young son.

Ganesan (Prabhu Deva) has the job of collecting travellers for the lone bus run by Padmavathi Bus Service. Mythili (Reema Sen) showers love and affection on Viswa (Bharath), her neighbor, since childhood. Viswa happens to be the only son of a rich business tycoon Rajasekhar (Girish Karnad), who loses his mother at a young age. Mythili treats Viswa as her younger brother and spends all her time with him. Meanwhile, Ragunandan(Vishal), an income tax officer, turns up at Rajasekhar's house for an IT raid and happens to meet Mythili there. They eventually fall in love and after a series of incidents they get wed locked. They settle in Goa then. The trouble begins when Viswa reaches Goa in search of Mythili. He manages to kidnap Mythili and bring her to Chennai. The reasons for Viswa's obsession and possessiveness towards Mythili unfolds as the movie progresses. Ragunandan who comes back to Goa finds the house deserted. The next door neighbor tells him that Mythili eloped with Viswa. He then begins to track her down and finds that the duo had left to Chennai. Ragunandan reaches Chennai, but is unable to tell his parents the real plight. With the help of Harichandra(Vivek), his colleague, he tries to trace her out. A chance look at the video of their marriage throws light on Viswa’s hatred towards Ragunandan. Now Ragunanthan is convinced that Mythili did not go on her own will. He confronts Viswa’s father but he is of no help. Finally he traces out the location of Viswa’s hideout. Mythili on the other hand pleads with Viswa to release her. She explains that she cannot be his wife and can see him only as a son or a little brother. The plea falls on deaf ears. In a racy climax on high seas, the three protagonists fight it out and Mythili hits Viswa with the boat oars. He plunges in to the sea in an unconscious condition taking Mythili along. Ragunanthan comes at the nick of the time to save her. Even though she had killed him because of her attack on him, she is filled with remorse.
