Sattanathapuram Venkataraman Shekhar (Tamil: சட்டநாதபுரம் வெங்கடராமன் சேகர் sattanathapuram venkatraman shekar) (born 26 December 1950) is a Tamil playwright and film actor known best for his slapstick humour and for his public welfare initiatives. In 2006, he made an entry into politics by contesting and winning the Legislative Assembly Elections as an All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) candidate from Mylapore. In June 2009 he decided to start his own party after he had issues with AIADMK, and was expelled from the party, due to anti-party activities. In February 2009 he started Brahmins Association under the banner FEBAS which has not received any support from the already existing association THAMBRAAS.

Biographie

Shekher was born Sattanathapuram Venkataraman Shekher on 26 December 1950. He completed his diploma in Mechanical Engineering and post diploma in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Shekher is married to Uma(Grand daughter of G. Ramanathan). The couple have a daughter named Anuradha and a son named Ashwin who debuted in the Tamil flick Vegam.

Vallavan (Silambarasan) is a happy-go-lucky college student with a set of friends. Bala (Santhanam) & Suji (Sandhya) are two of Vallavan's friends. When they're at the temple, he sees Swapna (Nayantara). He immediately falls in love with her.. While Vallavan’s at the college, Swapna shows up. She's revealed to be a teacher, who’s three years older than Vallavan. He decides to woo her by turning into Pallavan, an ugly duckling with buck teeth and glasses. Pallavan makes Swapna fall in love with him for his heart, even though he is ugly and they both eventually fall in love and make love. But when Swapna comes to know that Pallavan is younger than her (from one of Vallavan's enemies in school) and that too a student, she dumps him and decides to marry another guy. Meanwhile a sequence of events take place, much to the chagrin of Vallavan who is highly insulted by them. As Vallavan walks in the streets wondering how things could get so messy, he recalls his school life.

Rishi (Sarathkumar) is a professional thief working for Satya (Arun Pandiyan). On one of his missions, he happens to watch a minister (Devan) kill a television reporter who is about to expose him. Rishi takes off with a floppy the reporter hands to him before dying and the minister, naturally, wants it back. Things get confusing because of Velu (Sarathkumar), who looks like Rishi and gets into trouble. .Meanwhile, Rishi turns over a new leaf when one of his tasks ends up in a singer Nandhini (Sangavi) being blinded. He starts taking care of her but Sathya is unwilling to let him go.

Parvathiamma(Latha) is the domineering mother of three sons Kandha(Prabhu), Kadamba(S.V.Sekhar) and Kathirvela(Vivek), who do her every bidding. They move around in an auto and work at their own hotel. Parvatiamma has disavowed her only daughter ever since she ran away with a barber Vedivelan(Vadivelu). Now the daughter's wish is to have her brothers present at the function of her son. Vadivelan takes this task upon himself and enters the household. His first job is to fix up the marriages of the sons with Rupini(Roja), Ragini(Sarala) and Rohini(Nirosha). Parvatiamma counterattacks by first ejecting him from the house and then separating her sons from their wives. Whether the couples reunite and Vedivelan succeeds or not forms the rest of the story.

Thirupathi (Vadivelu), Ezhumalai (S. Ve. Shekher) and Venkatesa (Prabhu) are poor friends who tried to become rich. Nachiappan (Venniradai Moorthy), a bungalow watchman, has three daughters : Lalitha (Kovai Sarala), Padmini (Urvashi) and Ragini (Roja). When his owner left the bungalow on vacation, Nachiappan's daughters decide to live there. Then, Nachiappan rents his owner's top portion bungalow to Thirupathi, Ezhumalai and Venkatesa who lied about their job. The three men finally get married with the three women.
