Synopsis

Bernardo, surnommé il Gandi, est un ouvrier, ancien boxeur, communiste et anti-fasciste. Une nuit, en rentrant chez lui, il découvre qu'un homme (Claudio) est sauvagement malmené par un groupe de fascistes. Cela est suffisant pour qu'il décide de défendre Claudio, désormais à bout de forces, qu'il amène chez lui pour le soigner. Quand il découvre que Claudio est homosexuel il cherche maladroitement à cacher son amitié pour Claudio à sa copine Marie et à ses collègues. Cela alimente les soupçons sur l'homosexualité de Bernardo éloigné de la vie politique. Claudio comprend les problèmes qu'il a causé, malgré lui, à Bernardo et décide de feindre de détester il Gandi et ses camarades communistes ayant comme seul but celui de redonner à Bernardo la vie qu'il menait avant qu'ils se connaissent. Pendant leur mariage, Bernardo et Maria reçoivent une lettre de Claudio où il explique son geste. Le film se termine à Amsterdam où Bernardo et Maria, venus pour leur lune de miel, rencontrent Claudio, marié lui aussi... à un homme.

Rosario Trapanese est déterminé à montrer qu’il n’est pas le typique sicilien à l’ancienne. Lorsque son entreprise l’envoie au Danemark, une nation plus libérée sexuellement que l’Italie, il adopte immédiatement le mode de vie danois "libre-sexuel-tabou". Il rencontre et épouse Karen et réussit à revenir en Italie. Une fois ici, il découvre Karen a fait un film porno et sa détermination à être ouvert d’esprit est terminée. La jalousie sicilienne typique le rend fou. Quoi qu’il en soit, après un certain temps, Rosario comprend que ce que sa femme a fait avant de le rencontrer ne doit pas être un problème pour lui. Karen avoue à Rosario qu’elle a signé un contrat pour un second film et qu’elle ne pouvait refuser qu’en payant une amende. Le couple n’a pas assez d’argent donc ils doivent trouver une solution.

The film is divided into four episodes. In the first Paolo Villaggio plays the role of a sailor from Genoa who learns from his doctor that he will soon become a woman. He begins to make plans and to daydream of what it will be like to be a woman. In the second episode Adriano Celentano is a former dancer in Emilia Romagna who now trains a woman for boxing fights. When he meets a beautiful emilian girl who is enrolling in a dance competition where a large sum of money will be awarded to the winners, Adriano does not miss the opportunity. He first tries to kill the boxer woman he works with, called "King Kong" and then leaves to go dancing with the girl, winning one turn after another. But as the couple wins the first prize Adriano is arrested by the police. In the third episode Renato Pozzetto plays the role of a poor mason from Milan who bets with some friends that he will be able to seduce the wife of his boss. Renato will succeed but will pay the consequences. In the last episode Alberto Sordi plays the role of hick Roman Nando Moriconi (same character of the film Un americano a Roma by Steno - 1954), this time he works as a body guard of a prominent Italian financier who has been the victim of many attempts to kidnap him .
