Raj Nagar estates owner Raja Dharma Raj Singh is a millionaire. He and his wife Radha have a son and Radha is pregnant with a daughter. One day, Devan Kuber Singh, alias Cobra (Kader Khan), a smuggler and gangster, kills Dharma Raj and frames it as an accident. Sultan (Sunny Deol) is the only son of Razoulli Al-Jabber Al-Nasser (Amrish Puri) and lives a comfortable life. Sultan has been taught all the skills needed for a warrior to defend himself and his tribe. Sultan falls for Shehzadi Yasmeen (Sridevi), is captured by her troops, tortured, made to enter a death race. He escapes from it and abducts Yasmeen. Eventually Yasmeen and Sultan fall in love with each other. Razoulli is killed by General Khalid and his wife loses her senses. Sultan swears to avenge his father's death, and finds out that the person responsible is General Khalid (Dharmendra). Sultan learns that Khalid's son, Samir (Karan Kapoor), and his fiancée, Zarina (Juhi Chawla), are to arrive, and he decides to abduct them, though in vain. Khalid comes to know about this and decides to kill Sultan. What Khalid does not know is Sultan is none other than his son, who was abducted at a young age and left with Razoulli. But now it seems that the duel between father and son will only end when one is killed by the other.

Gayetri lives with two close male friends, who she considers her brothers by the names of Veeru (Dharmendra) and Dheeru (Vinod Khanna), who are small-time thieves, and con men, and are known to the local police. When Gayatri meets and falls in love with Police Inspector Arjun Thanghe (Rajinikanth), the duo are delighted and arrange her marriage with great pomp and ceremony. Gayatri does find her way to contact her brothers, and is horrified to find them in the employ of the person who has killed her husband, none other than Mr.

The film opens with Chiranjeevi being chased and caught by a group of policemen, but he escapes. Meanwhile, a young military man (Rajinikanth) returns to his village, which is known for frequent thefts and murders perpetrated by the mysterious "One-Eyed Man" (Chiranjeevi) and his gang of thieves. Rajini soon meets Chiranjeevi; the two were once college roommates, but they had since separated. In addition to Chiranjeevi, Rajini reunites with his father (Poornam Vishwanatha), an Orthodox Iyengar who always condemns him, and he finds out that his sister eloped with a man few years before, which he later finds out was other than the gangleader of the thieves himself, Chiranjeevi. Sridevi plays Rajini's love interest as a poultry farm girl in a highly glamorous role. The climax fight between Rajini and Chiranjeevi is the highlight of the movie. In the end Chiranjeevi gets shot by his own son.
