Synopsis
New Delhi is about a Delhi based journalist who is imprisoned in a mental asylum after exposing the wicked side of two corrupted politicians, and his subsequent attempts at revenge with the help of this lady love. The story is loosely based on the novel The Almighty by Irving Wallace. The film is the remake of highly successful Malayalam film under the same title New Delhi released in 1987.It was Urvashi's and Suresh Gopi's first Hindi (Bollywood) film.Acteurs

The central character of the film is a spiritual leader played by Nedumudi Venu who has devotees all around the world and who received a telephoned death threat. He reports the incident to Police Superintendent Haridas Damodaran (Mammootty) who initiates an investigation into the source of the threat. In the meantime, other important people are being murdered; the investigation later reveals that all of the victims were college classmates. Police arrest a suspect named "Christy" (Suresh Gopi) on murder charges. Proving whether Christy or an unknown perpetrator is the culprit forms the basis of the rest of the investigation.

James, a wealthy businessman, is married to Susanna, an orphan, against the wishes of his family. After James passes away, James' family seems to make amends with Susanna. However, Susanna eventually realizes that their motive is James' wealth. Following a confrontation, the family files a lawsuit against Susanna, claiming her marriage to James is invalid, hence Susanna and her child are not entitled to James' wealth. The family also attempts to isolate Susanna, destroy her marriage records and threaten her into complying with the lawsuit. Receiving no help from anyone, a helpless Susanna by chance encounters George Korah Vettickal, an advocate. Susanna hires George to defend her case. George is beaten by goons and threatened against working on Susanna's case. Following this, a determined George proceeds with the case and uncovers many discrepancies, including the mystery behind James' death, eventually building up the case against James' relatives.

Viswanathan, a famous director, is haunted by the death of his wife and a young man whom he accidentally hit while driving. Later he meets Shyama, the daughter of his friend, still struggling with the death of her boyfriend, the man whom Viswanathan had killed. They fall in love but Viswanatan tries to avoid her. In the climax, he reveals the truth to shyama. He tries to leave the town but is stopped by her brother chandran. They have a fight and Viswanathan is hurt. A new batch of trainees arrives at the army training center (SAT) situated near border in Kashmir. Their trainer is Major Nair Saab (Mammootty) who is a man known for his hard-and-fast training strategies. The movie is treated with humour arising from the intense training of the guys. But, things take a U-turn once when the underworld led by Kumar (Devan)buys out two guys from the batch and use them for importing drugs from the neighboring country which is obviously Pakistan (though never mentioned in the movie).

A gang led by Aliyar (Thilakan) holds a grudge against Police Officer Haridas (Vishnuvardhan) who was responsible for the death of Antony's (Mammootty) wife and daughter as well as Aliyar's Wife and two daughters 12 years ago and sent Antony to jail. When Antony is finally freed, he reunites with his old gang and they plan to kill Haridas. Antony then discovers that his daughter who he thought had died is actually still alive and was raised by Haridas as one of his daughters. Antony meets his long-lost daughter but Aliyar and gang are not ready to leave Haridas. Antony pleads to the gang to leave Haridas alone but fails to stop them. During the struggle, Antony gets shot by Aliyar and in his defence kills Aliyar.
