Nirbhoya is an upcoming Bengali film directed by Milan Bhowmik and produced by Sanjib Samaddar under the banner of Sambit Media and Productions. The film is based on the 2012 Delhi gang rape case. Apart from West Bengal, the film will also be released in other states like Orissa, Assam and Bihar. Another version of the film, dubbed in Hindi script treatment done by Sudeshu Shivam and Abhishek Kumar will also be released.

Astra is a tale of a gangster who becomes a victim of love. Baban is a dreaded sharp shooter working for an underworld don. For him… killing is as easy as breathing. But in an unprecedented twist of fate a woman enters his life. Koena…a journalist by profession is the one who gives Baban the jolt of his life as he falls head over heels for her. This “adventure story for kids” actually revolves around a naughty and adolescent kid, Raja’s (Aryann Bhowmik) adventures during his holidays spent in his home in the picturesque backdrop of North Bengal at the foothills of the mountains. Once, while he is playing with his bunch of friends and kid sister Chhoti (Tathoi Deb), near the forests, he discovers a child, his body covered with festering wounds from rat bites and mice bites, hidden in a big hole in the ground. He finds out from a television news channel that Neel, the son of wealthy parents, has been kidnapped and kept hidden in the hole for a ransom. The chief kidnapper, a sinister character named Pandey is hiding in Raja’s house as Raja’s father, a taxi-driver, is involved in the kidnapping. In a moment of greed, he helped deliver the kidnapped child in his taxi. Pandey panics when he realises that Raja has chanced upon the truth and holds Raja’s family captive in their own house.

Jeet (Jeet) is a student whose family, consisting of his parents and elder sister Devashree (Locket Chatterjee), migrated to the city. Jeet, who tries to handle the situation, clashes with Deva's gang for a number of times and beat his gang members.In order to take revenge, Vishnu's goons rape Devashree, kill his intimate college friend Iqbal (Biswanath Basu) and finally kill his father (Bodhisatwa Majumdar). A helpless and heartbroken Jeet is left with nothing, but only a strong desire to punish the wrongdoers. He becomes determined to kill Vishnu. In the end, Jeet is successful in killing Deva and Vishnu, thus fulfilling his revenge.
