Paasam is a Tamil language directed by T. R. Ramanna. The film features M. G. Ramachandran, M. R. Radha, B. Saroja Devi and T. R. Rajakumari in lead roles.
The film, produced by R. R. Pictures, had musical score by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy and was released on 31 August 1962.
The film only ran for 80 days and flopped at box-office.

A king is imprisoned by his ambitious brother (T.S.Balaiah),who creates the impression that the king had died during an animal hunt. The crown prince (played by MGR) was on a sea journey and returns to attend the king's fake funeral. During the funeral, the crown prince comes to know the truth, via a secret message conveyed to him by the daughter (B.S.Saroja,in a bearded messenger disguise) of the palace physician. As expected, she falls in love with the prince. The sibling of king also plots to kill the prince by poisoning him with a drug, concocted by the palace physician. The drug was supposed to make the crown prince mad, who acts like a madman poisoned by the drug to fool everyone. Prince is also helped by a woman drama troupe leader (T.R.Rajakumari), who also had affection to the crown prince. Eventually, she sacrifices her life, leaving the prince to unite with the daughter of palace physician. The plotting villains were avenged by the prince and his comedian side kick (Chandrababu).

Mask Killers surrounded a guy and killing, Doctor Chandran (MGR) passing the way, he gets into fight with those people and harried to police station nearby meantime those killers escaped with dead body. Chandran joins hands with police to investigate the crime. Doctor Chandran is very generous guy, serving for poor. Another side Mani (Ashokan) appointed as a cashier at V.K. Ramasamy finance company. Another attack by mask killers when M.R.Radha and V.K.Ramasamy going in the car with money. Doctor Chandran help them out and he identify the person in the plot. Mani is staging drama to get money of M.R. Radha. Meantime MGR fall in love with Sivagami (Saroja Devi) Radha's daughter. But Radha arranges the marriage for Sivagami and Mani. Sivagami refused to marry Mani. Things get tightened the neck of Radha when Chandran goes to police. M.R.Radha accepted Chandran and sivagami love. At the climax Chandran and cops plays drama to find the mask killer. Will killer's mask tear? Sivagmi and Chandran get marry? Remain story 'll cover up these questions.

JB (M.G. Ramachandran) is a wealthy industrialist who decides to take a vacation at his residence in Shimla. Upon his arrival, he discovers that his caretaker (P. D. Sambandam) has rented his house to a Bangalore-based couple, Punyakodi (T. R. Ramachandran) and Pappamma (T. P. Muthulakshmi), and their daughter, Geetha (B. Saroja Devi). The caretaker and his wife leave for Varanasi after taking the money for the rent, leaving the caretaker's daughter, Kannamma (Manorama), and brother-in-law, Ramaiah (Nagesh), in charge of the house and the guests. JB decides not to reveal his true identity, pretending to be JB's personal secretary Balu, and pays the rent for a place in his own house. Ramaiah, who has never met JB, takes the money and gives JB's room to Balu.
