Peter-No-Tail (Swedish: Pelle Svanslös) is a 1997 Swedish Live-Action SVT's Christmas calendar TV series initiated by SVT Dramas executive chief Mark Levengood. The series is based on Gösta Knutssons's books and was well received by both children and grownups. The script was written by Pernilla Oljelund.

Some of the actors wore mechanical, remote-controlled tails with their costumes.

Synopsis

The serties is set at Åsgränd in the town of Uppsala in Sweden, where a group of cats are living. Among them are Pelle Svanslös, Måns and Maja Gräddnos.

The gang are all orphans, hoping to be adopted by nice families where "spinach is not on the menu". Wheezer, the youngest child, gets adopted by a wealthy couple, while his older sister Mary Ann does not. The gang all comes to visit Wheezer in his new home, setting off an alarm that causes the police and the fire department to come over. At that time, Wheezer's new mother and father decide to adopt Mary Ann as well. The couple's friends all each adopt a child as well; even Farina is adopted by the maid at Wheezer's new home.

William Bloss, surnommé "le Costaud", est bagagiste dans une gare. Un jour, lors d'un accident de camion, il sauve la vie du fils du vice-président de la compagnie ferroviaire, et il se retrouve promu à la tête du service des objets trouvés. Friendly neighborhood policeman Kennedy the Cop (Edgar Kennedy) warns the gang to stay away from an old abandoned house in the neighborhood. Instead, he suggests the kids go dig for buried treasure, which they proceed to do—in the basement of the old abandoned house. The house is inhabited by a homeless lunatic (played by Jewish comedian Max Davidson in a rare, mostly non-ethnic role), who takes giddy delight in scaring the children, particularly Farina. Kennedy eventually turns up at the house to save the kids and apprehend the lunatic, but can hardly take care of himself.
