Shankanaatham is a 1988 Indian Malayalam film, directed by TS Suresh Babu and produced by Harinarayanan. The film stars Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Nedumudi Venu and Ratheesh in lead roles. The film had musical score by Jerry Amaldev.

The central character of the film is a spiritual leader played by Nedumudi Venu who has devotees all around the world and who received a telephoned death threat. He reports the incident to Police Superintendent Haridas Damodaran (Mammootty) who initiates an investigation into the source of the threat. In the meantime, other important people are being murdered; the investigation later reveals that all of the victims were college classmates. Police arrest a suspect named "Christy" (Suresh Gopi) on murder charges. Proving whether Christy or an unknown perpetrator is the culprit forms the basis of the rest of the investigation.

It is a political film on trade union and its functioning in factories. The story revolves a trade union and company owner. She brings new manager Mohan Cheriyan (Mohanlal) to solve the company issues with trade union leaders. When the company was about to lay off due to union problems, Raghavan (Mammootty)suggest a new formula for solving the company issues and this leads to save the company. finally Raghavan was killed by his own men. The film is about Daniel Thompson, a saxophone player who is a mute witness to many of the historical happenings taking place around in the world. And it is here that he meets Bhargavi Amma, a retired professor, who is also desolate after the death of her daughter and after being totally isolated in life. Dany and Bhargavi Amma develop an intimacy and they travel back together from the hospital. But Dany passes away on the way. Anyhow Bhargavi Amma decides to perform the funeral rites in the Christian manner in the compound of her house, a house of orthodox Hindus. This creates certain problems, but Bhargavi Amma decides to dare all such problems.
