Summer 2007 is a 2008 Indian drama film directed by the debutant Suhail Tatari. The film deals with five medical students who undergo a rude awakening of sorts after visiting a Maharashtrian village and witnessing the misfortune of villagers. The film stars Sikandar Kher, Gul Panag, Yuvika Chaudhary, Arjan Bajwa and Alekh Sangal. Ashutosh Rana and Divya Dutta play the supporting roles.
Synopsis
Rahul (Sikandar Kher), Priyanka (Yuvika Chaudhary), Qateel (Arjan Bajwa), Bagani (Alekh Sangal) and Vishaka (Gul Panag) are medical college students with carefree attitudes. Rahul and Priyanka's failed relationship is shown in flashbacks. Rahul argues with an independent candidate and plans to make a political party and contest the college elections. Later he patches up with a bigger political party and gets the independent candidate arrested in fraud case of suicide attempt by his girlfriend. After that Rahul doesn't want to back off from elections. To avert this they plan to go for internship. The group goes to a village in rural Maharashtra that is struck by farmer suicide. There they work as medical interns in the village hospital. The group plans a vacation to Goa until they are awoken to the plight of the poverty-ridden villagers by the village doctor, Mukya (Ashutosh Rana). In addition to their torment, a cruel zamindar (Vikram Gokhale) and his son (Prosshant Narayanan) trouble the villagers with excessive interest rates.Acteurs

The plot is a copy of the 1985 Hollywood thriller Jagged Edge & The Kannada film Antima Ghatta] (1987) starring Shankar Nag, Urvashi and Tara. The film starts with the murder of Priti, wife of Shekhar (Aftab Shivdasani), a wealthy and well-known journalist. Inspector Lokhande (Ashutosh Rana) investigates the case and accuses Shekhar of the murder, saying he has enough evidence to arrest and convict him. However upon getting bail from the court, Shekhar asks his lawyer to fight his case for him however his lawyer tells him that he will not be able to fight his case because he is a corporate lawyer and only fights civil cases. He suggest he ask Simran Bhargav (Lisa Ray), who is a very skilled criminal lawyer in his firm to fight his case.

When Sub-Inspector Joseph Pinto finds that his foster son, Jai Dixit (Emraan Hashmi), sired by a deceased, re-formed gangster, has taken to crime, he arranges for his re-location to Melbourne, and has his name changed to Suraj Bhardwaj (Emraan Hashmi). Jai does re-locate there, and gets hired as a taxi-driver. He gets attracted to Suhani (Neha Sharma), much to the of her brother, Samarth (Arjan Bajwa), who wants her to marry Gurdaspur-based Romi Latti (Kavin Dave), who is also in Melbourne on a university scholarship. With mounting racially-motivated attacks and profiling ('Curry Boy', 'Indian Curry') against Indian students, Samarth (Arjan Bajwa) actively protests - but Jai refrains from doing so - even after Romi (Kavin Dave) is badly beaten by Caucasian youth. The protest results in violence, and Samarth (Arjan Bajwa) is arrested. On the day of his discharge, Jai (Emraan Hashmi) is told by a stripper, Nicole (Shella Alan), that plans are afoot to kill Samarth (Arjan Bajwa), and he decides to intervene. He does succeed and even accompanies Suhani (Neha Sharma) to the Police Station to identify her brother's attackers.
