Cover Story is an Hindi thriller film directed by Laurence Postma starring Anjum Nayar and Jackie Shroff. It is an official remake of the acclaimed Dutch film Interview, directed by Theo Van Gogh in 2003 and second of remake first being Interview by Steve Buscemi in 2007.

À la tête d'une escouade de police, Inayat Khan se blesse en portant secours à un de ses hommes. Il est soigné par le Dr Akhtar qui, peu de temps après, est assassiné par un groupe de terroristes mené par Malik ul Khan. Ce dernier a lancé une fatwa à l'encontre des médecins prodiguant des soins aux policiers ou aux membres de leurs familles. Sous la menace, aucun médecin n'accepte de s'occuper du jeune fils de Inayat Khan, Irfan, grièvement blessé lors d'un accident et l'enfant meurt de ses blessures. Lorsque Malik ul Khan est repéré dans un petit village du Cachemire, Inayat Khan organise une opération pour le capturer. Malheureusement, l'opération tourne mal et toute une famille est décimée au cours de l'assaut donné par les policiers. Seul Altaaf, un jeune garçon, échappe au massacre. Recueilli par Inayat Khan, il finit par apprendre la vérité sur son père adoptif. Il tente de le tuer et s'enfuit. Des années plus tard, Altaaf, en quête de vengeance, réapparaît aux côtés de Hilal Kohistani, un redoutable terroriste dont l'ambition est de déclencher une guerre civile au Cachemire.

Widower farmer, Dayal Singh, based in Palheri in the District of Chandigarh, witnesses the exploitation of farmers at the hands of Zamindars. He decides to send his elder son, Aman, to the city to study and become a lawyer, while his second son, Jiggar, would live with him and assist him in farming. Years later, the district gets a visit from Sohan Seth, who wants to buy the farm and turn the area into a commercial zone. Aman returns home and is able to join hands with his father and brother in advising the locales against Sohan. Things get out of hand when Jiggar is arrested for Assault, and even though Aman defends him, is sentenced to five years in prison. After his discharge, Jiggar returns home to find his father bed-ridden, half of his body paralyzed, a number of farmers have committed suicide, while Aman, who has married his sweetheart-fellow lawyer, Priya, lives in the city, works for Sohan, and has been putting pressure on Dayal as well as other farmers to sell their respective farmlands.
