Synopsis
Thirunakkara Perumal is develops in Perumatthurkkara village. Both Hindus and Christians lived there peacefully.The Temple is off Perumathur Kovilakam, during the time of festival people of both religion took their part in ceremonies. If church people do not take part in the Temple festival, that year festival would not be taken place. As part of the ritual, Lakshmikutty Thampuratty (Seema) of kovilakam takes the sword and lamp of the temple.Acteurs

Gopalan (M. G. Soman) is a local owner of cane wholesale business as he purchases the canes from workers and sell it for high price. But he is a dishonest person as he smuggles sandalwood too in between cane business. Varuthunni (Madhu) is the chief of workers and they believe Gopalan. Varuthunni's adopted son is Ramu (Kamal Hassan) and he is in love with Sreedevi, (Seema) daughter of Narayanan, (Jose Prakash) co-worker of Varuthunni. Annamma (Sheela) is a widow and she too likes Ramu, eventhough he is younger to her.

Raghunandan is an ex-Bank of England employee who resigned his lucrative job because he was bored with the rather sedentary and mundane nature of his work. Kanyakumari Express is about an Assistant police commissioner Mohan Sanker (Suresh Gopi). He lost his wife and children in an accident and shifted his job to Crime Branch. He did this only to lead a calm life. Change in his duty was welcomed by some politicians. But he was carrying his duty secretly that too without uniform. He even did research on temples of Kerala and Nanchinad. It was during this period his enemies began to die one by one. The Chief Minister (Jagathy Sreekumar) too misunderstood Mohan Sanker for the death of his enemies. There he started to investigate those murders.
