Prem (born as Bore Gowda on 22 October 1978) is a film director and actor in the Kannada films. He is also an occasional singer and lyricist. He is considered one of the star directors in Kannada film industry.Making his debut in the 2003 released Kariya, he directed back-to-back three successful films and is popularly addressed as Hatrick Director. He made his acting debut in Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melide in the year 2008. Since Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melide his movies seem to have taken a mediocre run in box office and the audience have not accepted his acting roles either. His 2013 movie Daasavala explored his capability as comedian. The film was widely criticized and was branded as a box-office disaster.

Biographie

Prem was born as Bore Gowda on 22 October 1978 in Mandya district of Karnataka. He is married to actress-turned-producer Rakshita and has a son named Surya.

Dasavala is about two tourist guides - Prem and Rangayana Raghu. The jolly guides face a peculiar situation when a handicapped artist, a singer, a girl who escapes from the clutches of prostitution, a lady who leaves her home after a tiff with her son, and another girl, who also runs away from her house not being able to accept the groom selected by her parents, land in their house. Each one of them has some sentimental story which reflects the present day society. As the story progresses, the plot unfolds and each one of them are back in their own house. But the main character Aishwarya (Aishwarya Menon) decides to stay with Prem and he had to fight with her groom to save her.

Muththuraj (Puneeth Rajkumar) lives happily with his parents in a village, and his only desire is to be an actor. Meanwhile, an associate director who has full confidence in his talents starts his new film with Muththuraj as the hero. The film is narrated in a non-linear fashion, with the use of several multiple flashbacks. In the opening scene, a dreaded underworld don is brutally hacked to death by unknown assailants. The police arrive at the crime scene and arrest the unknown assailant revealed as the superstar hero of the movie. The murder is revealed to be the handiwork of a novice, Madesha alias Jogi, played by Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar who works in a roadside tea stall.
