R ....(The King) is a 2016 Indian Kannada action film written and directed by Prem starring Vinay Rajkumar
The film is Vinay Rajkumar's second film and is being produced by Smt Parvathamma Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar under Vajreshwari Hospitalities banner. The film had created lots of curiosity among fans and the Kannada film industry. Director Prem, after directing movies for Shivarajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar is directing Vinay Rajkumar for his second venture.

The title launch of the film was held on 24 April which is the birth anniversary of the legend Dr Rajkumar by Shivarajkumar Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar

The official teaser of the film was launched on the birthday of actor Vinay Rajkumar at Chamundeshwari Studio in Bangalore amongst many personalities from KFI and media. The Teaser was launched in a unique style by the fans of Dr.Rajkumar. The event was attended by Shivarajkumar Raghavendra Rajkumar Vinay Rajkumar and the director of the film, Prem.

Muththuraj (Puneeth Rajkumar) lives happily with his parents in a village, and his only desire is to be an actor. He comes to the city to become to pursue this goal and ends up being a junior actor in films. Meanwhile, an associate director who has full confidence in his talents starts his new film with Muththuraj as the hero. However, the film's heroine, Parvathy (Nisha Kothari), walks out because she is not keen on working in films and had only agreed to it as a result of the persistence of the director. Muththuraj starts pestering her to work with him. Meanwhile, her two relatives, who have underworld connections, want to arrange a marriage for her. She escapes with Muththuraj, and she falls in love with him. The second half of the film deals with how Muththuraj saves Parvathy and realizes his dream.

The film is narrated in a non-linear fashion, with the use of several multiple flashbacks. In the opening scene, a dreaded underworld don is brutally hacked to death by unknown assailants. The police arrive at the crime scene and arrest the unknown assailant revealed as the superstar hero of the movie. The murder is revealed to be the handiwork of a novice, Madesha alias Jogi, played by Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar who works in a roadside tea stall.
