Later he falls in love with her, thus he tries to cheat and lie to impress Nandhini (Meena). But this time Nandhini (Meena) was clever enough to identify all his lies and cheats but no matter what they still reunite again after every quarrel and fights. Quarrel and fights lasted till their wedding moment but eventually at the end only everyone know that no matter Harichandra (Karthik Muthuraman) lies and cheats people he is still a good human being. Thus Harichandra (Karthik Muthuraman) and Nandhini (Meena) got married and lived happily.

Venu (Karthik) and his friend Mukka (Charle) work at the graveyard. Venu has a mother (Vadivukkarasi) and a sister called Sindhamani, a studious student. Poongodi (Reshma), daughter of the village president, eve-teases Sindhamani. Venu orders to Poongodi to stop it immediately and Poongodi decides to revenge Venu. They have some quarrels. Nagaraj (Anandaraj), Poongodi's uncle and a smuggler, wants to marry his niece Poongodi. After Poongodi's puberty ceremony, she changes her behaviour and shows sympathy for Venu.

Maya (Amala) was a spoiled child of a rich man as she always creates issues in her hostel as well as in college. One day along with her friends, she decides to make fun of a Dr. Srinivas (Raja), but the doctor in turn insults her saying that she is a fatherless child. Shocked Maya understands her childish behavior and attempts suicide, but the doctor saves her and she gets back to normal, but starts loving the doctor and she also decide to find out who her father is and finally she discovers that her father had adopted her when she was baby and her biological mother was K. S Vasundhara Devi (Srividya), famous singer. She tries her every bit to make her mom accept her. Finally her mother accepts Maya, but before she make this news to public, Vasundhara Devi is murdered by her administration employees for her wealth. Maya kills her mother's killer's and she is sentenced to lifetime imprisonment. Srinivas marries her, while she undergoes sentence in Jail.

Mariamma is married since several years but she doesn't have any children, she is afraid that their dynasty will disappear. To avoid this, Mariamma, her husband and her younger brother Muthu prepare a grand festival in their village with the financial help of the village rich man Rajadurai (R. Sarathkumar). In the meantime, Kaveri (Vaidehi) and Muthu (Nizhalgal Ravi) fall in love with each other but Rajadurai has an eye on Kaveri. Being the owner of the village temples, Rajadurai has the temples' keys and benefit illegally the donations. After the festival, Rajadurai betrays the villagers lying that temples incurred him heavy losses. So Muthu's family with the support of the villagers complains against Rajadurai. They obtain a favourable decision from the court. Thereafter to take revenge, Muthu's brother-in-law is killed by Rajadurai's henchman. Muthu and Kaveri ultimately get married. Few months later, Kaveri becomes pregnant. Rajadurai desires for revenge and want to destroy Muthu's dynasty. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

J.K. Balaganapathy (Sivakumar), popularly known as JKB, is a gifted carnatic musician but his wife Bhairavi (Sulakshana), despite her love and loyalty, fails to satisfy or challenge him intellectually. For JKB, this, and her inability to have children, is a problem. Gajapathi (Janagaraj) works for JKB as a tambura musician, and he is a compulsive liar. The film starts with an introduction of all characters of the film followed by JKB going to a concert where he finds Gurumoorthy (Delhi Ganesh), who works for JKB as a Mridangam musician, drunk. He instructs Gurumoorthy to leave the premises and performs in the concert without the use of Mridangam which is considered a basic/compulsory instrument to perform a carnatic concert. When Gurumoorthy is asked to permanently leave the band, he promises not to drink again. While Bhairavi's grandfather is going to receive his pension, which he does on the first of every month, Gajapathi lies to him that his pension has been cancelled. The old man starts crying and JKB intervenes to confirm that his pension is not canceled and that he can go and collect it. JKB then scolds Gajapathi for it and tells him the old man could have died on hearing such a lies, as he is very particular about his pension. Following this, when JKB finds out that Gajapathi has lied to him too and others causing problems he asks him to promise to speak the truth.
