Warren Duff (May 17, 1904 – August 5, 1973) was a film and television writer and producer.
As a writer, Duff wrote for films including, Fashions of 1934, Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), Experiment Perilous (1944), Step Lively (1944), Chicago Deadline (1949) and Appointment with Danger (1951).
He worked on television programs including The Invaders (1967) and Mannix (1967).
Duff, the producer of the film noir classic Out of the Past (1947), was once and actor and director on the New York City stage before turning to screenwriting when he entered the film business in 1931.

John Conroy, à la tête d'une commission d'enquête et son ami le journaliste Jerry McKibben cherchent à démasquer Eichelberger qui dissimule sous une affaire de camionnage un vaste trafic illicite. Al Goddard est inspecteur des services postaux aériens. Ses supérieurs l'envoient dans la petite ville de Gary, dans l'Indiana. Un officier vient d'y perdre brutalement la vie, éliminé par des malfrats. Al Goddard rencontre soeur Augustine, seul témoin capable d'identifier un membre de la bande qui a commis l'assassinat. Après avoir interrogé la religieuse, Goddard infiltre le gang en feignant d'être un inspecteur postal passé de l'autre côté de la barrière, tandis que dans l'ombre, la soeur Augustine lui apporte une aide précieuse. Le Dr Hunt Bailey fait la connaissance de Cissie Bederaux dans le train qui roule vers New York. Peu de temps après, il apprend que Cissie est décédée d’une crise cardiaque chez son frère, Nick.
